Like the US will from Afghanistan before long. Far as that goes, I would not be surprised to see the US grab defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq and come running home with it's tail between it's legs.

The US citizenry has a whole lot of quit in it when things get tough.

If by stay behind you mean stay home, I think you are probably right. Why would Canadians do anything else? They think they are under the protection of the US but my guess is if someone was stupid enough to want that forsaken frozen wasteland, the US would probably stand aside. ;)
