EXCLUSIVE: Senator's husband's firm cashes in on crisis

Whether she knew or did not know is neither here nor there.
The Public perception is that this is yet another instance of a Politician sticking her grubby hands into the Public trough.

I think there is pretty much no chance that she did not know it. They're all in on the deal, the whole lot up there in Washington. Making sure their buddies get money at the expense of us. How do you think banks are posting record profits. It's not because people are borrowing and buying, cause we ain't. It's because Washington has turned AIG into a back door funnel so they can get more money to their buddies in "business" (oligopoly is more like it).

This ain't the end either. They aren't doing anything to fix this problem, the government is mostly running the "hide its head in the sand" method. No talks about what drove us here, no discussion on installing proper oversight and regulation to help prevent it again. Pretend nothing is wrong, try to get your rich friends even richer, and that's that. This whole collapse was the greatest robbery of all time. Rich get richer, poor get ****ed. Same ol' same ol'.

What she absolutely should have known is that, being married to the head of a major real estate firm, she had an unavoidable conflict of interest and should never have even voted on, much less introduced, the legislation. To do otherwise would have been (and was) completely unethical.

Of course, in the "new ethic" of Dear Leader's Administration, she probably is in the group of people for which a waiver from ethical considerations has been granted (along with Tiny Tim, Larry Summers, Mark Patterson, William Lynn, and, of course, Dear Leader himself).

Great post, and you're exactly right. These people have no shame in robbing us blind.
