How do you know the intel is bad unless you check it out. Suddenly it doesn't seem to work so quick. How many times was KSM waterboarded? 183 times? Hmmm, bet that took quite a while. So they got at least 182 instances of intel that turned out to be bad and a waste of time...

Who what where when type questions for the most part are easily verified. Thats all you really need. You ask the same questions over and over to develop a record of answer changes.

We have all seen video of Obama at Town Hall events. Obviously he cannot use prompters at these events because they are spontaneous. If you want to watch these events, search them out yourself. There are dozens of them, and you know it. If I don't feel like linking them, that doesn't make me a liar.

One guy died from hypothermia in afghanistan from being left outside. He did not die from "waterboarding" as is the topic of discussion.

The cause of the 2nd/3rd death is completely unspecified.

I wont say it cant happen because I believe anything can happen when the human body is stressed.

Regardless, your point is unsupported and you made up what you wanted to find as a reference.

When asked for proof of that, you linked to the above article. That article provides no reports of death or maiming from recent U.S. waterboarding. It does describe three deaths of prisoners abroad:

The sources said that in that case a young, untrained junior officer caused the death of one detainee at a mud fort dubbed the "salt pit" that is used as a prison. They say the death occurred when the prisoner was left to stand naked throughout the harsh Afghanistan night after being doused with cold water. He died, they say, of hypothermia.

According to the sources, a second CIA detainee died in Iraq and a third detainee died following harsh interrogation by Department of Defense personnel and contractors in Iraq. CIA sources said that in the DOD case, the interrogation was harsh, but did not involve the CIA.

As far as deaths at GITMO, the only accounts I'm aware of have been suicides. According the the World Health Organization, suicide is the single most common cause of death in correctional facilities.

The only confirmation of a death was not due to waterboarding. It was due to a technique that I would firmly oppose: Tossing cold water on someone and makign them stand in frigid air.

Another lie/misunderstanding you have made in this thread, shown to be false by your own evidence, was that KSM only talked after the 182nd attempt.

According to the sources, CIA officers who subjected themselves to the water boarding technique lasted an average of 14 seconds before caving in. They said al Qaeda's toughest prisoner, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, won the admiration of interrogators when he was able to last between two and two-and-a-half minutes before begging to confess.

If anything, I'm even more undecided now regarding waterboarding. It seems to work quite well compared to the other techniques if it only takes 2 1/2 minutes to get the intel.

Now, what I have been decided on for quite some time is that the "cold cell" method is too much and should not be used.

Even the case of bad intel that they discussed involved this technique as well as waterboarding being used. It does not specify which one was in use when the bad intel was received. Only that it was received after both were used.



Sorry, but the request was for you to support your comment about waterboarding killing or maiming, not show that hypothermia can kill someone.

Chris Matthews continues to rant about Abu Ghraib when arguing that Bush & Cheney should be investigated, conveniently ignoring that those responsible for the incident have been punished, either through jail time or ruined careers.

Mix up and distort the facts and events, toss out as many ugly photos as possible, whip the public into a frenzy... and there you go.
