Obama Backs Away From Assault Gun Ban in Push to Stop Flow to Mexico

Obama has quietly taken all the 9mm and 45 cal. ammo off the shelves of American gun stores. So we have our guns but no ammo. Go try to buy some in ANY store.

Not exactly. The demand for ammo (and 'assault weapons') has been driven up because of the anti-gun nature of The Obama Adminstration and the dem-controlled Congress, in anticipation of the coming legislation to that effect.

It is a reasonable and prudent reaction, all told.

So we have our guns but no ammo.
I have mine

People that vote for a left-wing candidate are always wrong.
Because you say so. To bad for you that you're wrong.
That candidate will not do the job the president is supposed to do. We've had nothing but left-wing candidates running for office since 1988.
And the country hasn't imploded, exploded, been taken over by communists, or disappeared. I'm getting a sense here that someone has a case of sour grapes because they aren't getting their way.
That the rest of the world wants a Kenyan national to be president of my country is an indictment against that Kenyan. The rest of the world does not have my best interests in mind, but theirs.
Kenyan national huh? Well I see what deck of cards you're playing with.

When you want to be taken seriously, act serious.

:rofl:rofl:rofl

Bush was a two-term president because the American people didn't want a purple-heart pansy "I voted for the war before I voted agaisnt it" gigolo replacing him.

That's quite possible. It's also quite possible that the right wing spin machine slung enough mud, spun enough hype, and fear mongered just enough to make voters think W would keep us safe from boogey man.

Or...it falls somewhere in between. That's my bet.

The "other Swift boat vet", one of the two who blew the whistle on Kerry's bogus war-record and possibly cost him the election, is a good friend of mine.

He's one of the most honest men I've ever known, and his character is beyond reproach. He thought about it at length before coming out against Kerry and telling what he knew, for several reasons: he's a very private man and didn't want media attention, and he knew it would cost him in some way to come out against a powerful Senator and candidate.

At his company, he was a valued and very productive employee who'd recently been promoted. A week after his story hit the national media, he was fired from his job for no substantial reason.

Pardon me if I don't cry real tears for Mr. Fake-my-medals Kerry.

I'm glad to see him walk away from this. This is good news for us. Obama has exhibited common sense and good judgement.

One way to slow the flow of American copkilling weapons and ammo would be to cut off the cash that's paying for this stuff: profits from drugs sold in the United States. But we'd have to do something real drastic to do that, I mean, we'd practically have to wage war on drugs...or something.

No offense here, but I believe the attack on Kerry was a hack job. I know you trust this friend of yours, but he doesn't mean anything to me and there are many things about John Kerry's service that are documented and verifiable. There are witnesses that corroborate his accounts.

It's he said/he said. You and I end up on opposite ends of this argument, And that is fine. Sorry to hear about your friend.

It most certainly has disappeared.

Once there was a country where whining was frowned on. Now there's a country where presidential candidates seek them out.

Once there was a country ruled by a Constitution, now there's a country ruled by a Constitutional law professor who doesn't understand the Constitution.

Once there was a country that knew that a bank that gave a loan to a man who couldn't pay it back deserved to lose that money, and that man deserved to be kicked out of the house he couldn't pay for. Now there's a country that steals money from people who pay their debts on time to keep stupid bankers afloat and their stupid borrowers in the houses they can't afford.

I could go on and on and on, but "the country" I grew up in was destroyed by the Left.

What are cop killing weapons and ammo? Are non cops immune from them?

Are you being sarcastic?

I think the billions that already goes to the drug war shows the US has been openly waging a losing war on drugs, I would say the war started when Nixon signed the DEA into existance.

As for statistics on how they are finding out which guns the cartels are using and where...I would love to see how they gathered this data. I would argue that some guns might come from US, some might come from eastern european country, or some might come from south america. It depends on who is running the guns, and what there going rates are. I really doubt that is a truly trackable statistic.

The only way to cut off profits to the cartels is to legalize the stuff, and you know and I know that is impossible in the kind of America we live in today. People would rather see good officers die to stop some blow from getting into the hands of there son jimmy in college.

No offense taken. I believe my friend because I know him to be an utterly honest man; you don't know him and have no reason to believe him. I wouldn't take the word of some stranger off the internet either.

"We cool"

However, I'm offended because Lerxst didn't take the word of your friend. I'm very offended.

Thank God I retired from that line of work!

"yes, I would like to see the USP .40..... no no, not the civillian killing model, do you have the cop killing model? yes thanks thats the one, how does it do on federal agents? oh that's an add on?"

I have it on good authority that civilians are immune to such ammunition. :)

Any other nits to pick or am I all out?

Did you know that California considers Hollowpoint rounds to be "cop killers" but they readily sell full metal jacket "plinking" rounds?

I'm so glad I bought a box of 185gr JHP's before I moved down here (/sadface) otherwise I'd be SOL at the moment.

When legislators legislate on that which they are utterly ignorant of...sheesh.
