In a sign of just how far Mr. Paterson’s fortunes have fallen, the governor now faces growing doubts from a group that has been among his most loyal: black elected officials, clergy members and voters.

It is a remarkable turnaround for a man whose ascension to the governor’s office just over a year ago set off a swell of pride and joy in black communities. Mr. Paterson became New York’s first black governor...

Is this the future for Obama?
They are similar types, with the exception Paterson is the unelected Governor.

I don't expect brothers and sisters to abandon "The One we have been waiting for", but the remainder of the country could represent a similar response as Paterson is facing.

Tea parties representing only the beginning.

I guess if you spread the same bs enough then at some point it will stick... at least in the imagination of the anti-obama crowd....must be fun to be associated with racists and neo nazies :)

Patterson's re-election highly depends on how he handles our state's budget crisis. So far its still in the middle, when he introduced those new "fat" taxes it pissed alot of people off. Right now those taxes are still in the air but he seemed to redeemed himself with the announcement of cutting alot of civil service jobs.

Quite similar, except for the fact that Paterson is a goddamn ****head who couldn't lead his dick out of his drawers, is too dumb to pass the bar, and who has never done anything particularly noteworthy in his life except what's been handed to him by others.

So sort of not similar at all.

Can you explain the meaning of this post?
The racists and neo-nazi's is the interesting part.

Well when you make comments like "I don't expect brothers and sisters to abandon "The One we have been waiting for" it can be seen as racist.

Racist? Surely you jest?
I've followed your posts, and I'm pretty surprised you have thrown this claim out... even with the qualifier "it can be seen."

He stated the words "The One we have been waiting for", and the brothers and sisters vote 90% for the D Party.

It might be considered a suspect claim except for the fact "The Community" have voted en masse for Democrats for decades... despite their quadrennial complaints they have been on the receiving end of a short stick.

So I believe the claim of not expecting brothers and sisters to abandon The One (avec Les Teleprompteur)
is a fair and accurate reading.

Anyone interpreting it as racist is making a pretty huge leap, I'd say an emotional jerking of the knee would be necessary to span the gap.

It can be seen as such and that is the bottom line. You asked the question and I told you why.

This does not mean I necessarily see it any particular way, but you asked.

You're absolutely right, maybe brothers and sisters should start acting like ordinary citizens and the stereotype will go away. But as long as they got their pants hanging off their asses, and every other word is MF, nigga and bitch, then they won't be respected as living by the commonly held decency of society. Obama and Cosby have both made statements about the pants, and it's clear what they mean.

This has literally nothing to do with anything I said. :doh

Maybe in fantasy land.
That's right where most blacks who think gangsta will get them ahead are. It won't, you need to conform to societal norms to some extent. No one is asking your to be robots, but there are societal norms. Blacks who embrace this succeed, and those who don't, don't.

Wrong right off the bat. "most blacks" do not think "gangsta" will get them anything but jail or death. You are also confusing "hip hop" with "gangsta." Funny part is they said the same thing about rock n roll.

You are seriously screwed up man.

Really, I'm not the one with the image problem.

Really, I'm not the one with the image problem.

Your comment has nothing to do with my response and even less to do with intelligent debate on the issues.

Of course you think Hollywood and the entertainment industry represent black culture. So I am not really surprised.

Yeah, because god forbid we place the blame on people who are stupid enough to base their judgments on poorly constructed stereotypes.

Fine, fine, you two join the Jackson/Sharpton Fan Club, but I tell you that people are getting bored with their tired story. $7,000,000,000,000 of Great Society money hasn't solved the problem, so you tell me what will. Whitey stop being mean? Come on!

Yeah, because simply calling people out who are stupid enough to believe such idiotic stereotypes is totally jumping on the Jackson/Sharpton bandwagon.

The fact that you would even go to such an extreme shows how truly out of touch you are.

Yes they are and they do not have large support even in the black community. So your point is ridicules.

More racist blather. You are as bad as blacks who claim the white man is holding them down.

You are two sides of the same coin. Both extreme, both useless and unproductive.

Hmmm, you didn't submit any solutions. Guess you don't know either.

No I don't, although I do have a theory as how we could begin.

#1 Get rid of affirmative action. Blacks need to be allowed to make it on there own on a level playing field.

#2 Stop giving more welfare for more kids and set time limits.

#3 In school teach the reading, math, science and how to balance a check book. Not social programing.

The problem is until the local and federal governments get off there collective asses and take away entitlements, nothing is going to happen.

They also need a spokesperson who doesn't subscribe to the Jackson/Sharpton rhetoric who will be just as loudly outspoken as they are. Unfortunately, though, that wouldn't grab as much attention because people like sensationalism and extremes for entertainment purposes.

It's funny but the majority of blacks do not subscribe to that. I think an episode of South Park put it the best when Token said : "Jessie Jackson is not the emperor of black people." It's funny how the media portrays him as such and it is just not true. Same goes for Sharpton.

Exactly! I love that episode.
