Does this surprise anyone? After all this 47 year old man is simply following the example of the pedophile profit Muhammad. Muhammad himself was 47 when he consumated his marriage to nine year old Aisha. Needless to say the civilized world is outraged that this judge refuses for a 2nd time to annul this marriage. The very thought of a 47 year-old man marrying an 8 year-old girl is moral repugnant. This man and the retarded, scumbag, Saudi judge that upheld the marriage need to be executed.

Following the execution both men need to lose their beards, be covered in pigs blood, and burned.

In case any of you are wondering why I LOATHE some parts of Islam, THIS IS WHY.

There is NO excuse for this behavior. That 47 year-old man is a pedophile, pervert son of a whore. The judge isn't any better ... he is even more disgusting than the pedophile sack of **** who married an 8 year-old.

Any religion that allows this type of absolute perversion in modern times is diseased and in need of disposal.

Like GarzaUK said before, the lifespan of people fluctuates by region and time period.

And the idea that Muhammad physically consummated the marriage can be debated, as well.

To judge him nearly 2,000 years after his actions by 21st century standards of morality which has evolved with our growing knowledge is ridiculous and illogical.

Oh come on. It doesn't take 21st century standards to see an 8 year old girl hasn't even started menstruating yet. Even the cavemen could tell that a child is a child.

Breasts, pubes & blood = woman

No breasts, pubes & blood = little girl

Maybe in crazy western nations where hormones are given to food sources before being slaughtered and served, but it's not the norm. My kid's 8 year old female friends still think boys are yucky. I cannot imagine any of them being forced to marry a man their dad's age (or grand dad's).

Well 2,000 years ago, i don't think we knew what damage it would do to a child. It was a chapter of history. It occured, do people think attacking it will somehow turn back the clock to that period?

Well obviously not, but people debate history all the time. And considering history is repeating itself right now with this 47 year old creep who wants to marry an 8 year old little girl, it's pretty darned relevent.

We can only surmise the psychological damage it did to that little girl 2,000 years ago. Physically, we know intercourse with someone that small would have likely damaged her vagina.

Not to mention, if she really was menstrual (which I seriously doubt) and had by the grace of God managed to conceive a child, the likely outcome would have been death for both her and the child. There's a reason we're not attracted to children.

Not necessarily. There are unexplained medical miracles every day. Child birth, conception .... etc have everything to do with the grace of God.

Chuck, this man is allready married to the 8 year old girl in question. The Judge has ordered him not to consumate the marriage until she reaches puberty. The girls father was in debt to this creep so he offerd his daughter in payment. IMO all of the men involved in this including the judge are the lowest form of scum. This is totally disgusting and the prophet Muhammad set the example for these perverts. Why people continue to make excusses for this is beyond me.

GarzaUK with his usual diversion tactic away from this particular case is attempting to convince us that this happens all over the world amongst many cultures including our own with the likes of Warren Jeffs and such. That may be true and poverty may be part of it. But we are not discussing any other cases or stats on child marriage. This thread is about a specific story. So Garza stop with the typical diversion tactics. We can see right through your agenda of appeasment and excuse making. This case has everyhting to do with religion and nothing to do with poverty.

SgtRock: I am not going to start this statement with the obligatory "I agree that this is wrong, but...." line because, clearly, this is a horrific violation of fundamental human rights and I understand (nay, hope) that everyone believes that it is so.

Still, you are oversimplifying this case. Believe me, I've been following it for two years now, and it is so convoluted that I'm still digging into it. First of all, there is the issue of the judge's previous ruling, which allowed for the annulment of the marriage and then, when that annulment was in the process of being executed, was suddenly withdrawn and replaced with the current ruling. Then, there is the case of sect, local power politics, and KSA-wide power politics which I shall not delve into here.

I have my hunches as to why the Saudi legal system is destroying this girl's life but, regardless of why it's doing so, it's an ugly manifestation of racism, sexism, and misogyny that, unfortunately, is common in this God-forsaken Kingdom.

Still, you support them knowing full well that this is NOT the only ugly case to come out of Saudi. The devil you know and all that Kissinger-esque horsesh*t. You made your own bed when it comes to MENA. Now lie in it.
