Terror inmates may be released in US: intel chief

Oh no! They may be released here? Let's start panicking now!

The talk of releasing terrorists in the US when Bush was president wasn't an option.
When he took the oath to protect and defend... he meant it.

Well good for him. Do you think they will be releasing these "terror suspects" on the unknowing populace if they think they are a hazard?

Of course not, thats why theyll be considered harmless if released on the unknowing populace.

Some may get welfare!

Blair said the former prisoners would have [to] get some sort of assistance to start their new lives in the United States.

“We can't put them out on the street,” he said.

The Weekly Standard

:doh

The Obama administration is currently evaluating what could be done with the prisoners, he said, but pledged that if they are sent to another country, "we have to be sure that that country will treat them in a humane fashion."
Twenty men detained at the remote US naval base at Guantanamo Bay in southern Cuba have been cleared of terrorism charges.
What a surprise... some of them were never even terrorists. We can't have these "maybe terrorists" living with us!

It says "assistance". It does not specify what kind of assistance that would be.

Your pedantry is straining our patience.

Whatever it will be won't be cheap, and it will be tax payer funded.

I prefer we send them from where they came, or back to the battle field.
They'd get a 100 meter head start.

May they be comfortable next door to you.

So if theyre released here does that mean that make them 'undocumented immigrants'?

If they were ever arrested by the US Military there is no question that they are indeed terrorists and will jump at the first chance to blow themselves up. It's not like the military arrests people who "might be" terrorists. They only arrest people that they are 100% absolute sure are terrorists.

Translation:

They'll be given civil service jobs at DHS.

18-20 year olds arresting people in the middle of battle don't make mistakes right?

Exactly. They only grab the "innocent civilians" shooting at them.

They also grab the civilians that are in the area they are being shot from by the terrorists hiding among civilians.

There is a big difference between being part of a political group of people against a specific political outcome and being part of a smaller group that takes it upon themselves to take aggressive action in the name of the political group.

Those people that normally would not have taken aggressive action are then convinced that aggressive action is the only solution since the same action is used against them by the US.

There's a big difference between the safe & secure confinement of Gitmo and the free & open streets of our cities.

Yes, it's called freedom for people that were wrongfully imprisoned.

Personally, I don't agree with letting these people into the US. They should be sent to their home countries. Though I can see the argument for this. Sending them to the US, they are more likely to start a new peaceful life. Sending back to their home countries they will be pushed into conflict.

Perhaps you could get some of that stimulus money and start a "Adopt a Terrorist" program. You could get them gainful employment with ACORN.

I personal prefer to allow human beings redemption and the ability to start a new peaceful life. I say "peace brother", you scream "death to infidel". To each his own.

My position on this matter is assuming the true terrorists, the ones that were caught red-handed or admitted guilt, are not part of this program. This program is for the guy that was walking down the street with a bag full of groceries and jumped by a platoon of privates after a car bomb went off near by and then thrown into GITMO for the past 6 years.

Tell your story to Allah & the 72 virgins, it has no basis in reality here.

They are just propaganda tools to force the sheep to do the wolves dirty work through fear of Religion.

I don't agree with your dismal of these people as 1) 100% accuracy that they are terrorists, 2) incapable of leading peaceful lives outside of the influence from terrorists groups.
