Call for higher circumcision rate

Maybe I just don't get around as much, but I've never met a woman who had a problem with my foreskin.

Not to say that they did have a problem, but tell me how many women would actually say to a man, "I was turned off by your foreskin." I don't see it happening.

It's like when a man tells me that women have never complained to him about his ability to please a woman. I don't know a lot of women who would offer such criticism. So just because it isn't vocalized doesn't mean the negative sentiment is not there.

I have broken up with PLENTY of men who turned me off physically. I never told any of them that was the reason.

Have you seen studies claiming uncut men are significantly happier than those who have been circ'ed? I don't think circumcision or lack thereof plays a huge role in a man's life whether they're circ'ed or not.

Such hyperbole.

So the reason for cutting off part of your child's body is... what, exactly? It seemed like a good idea at the time? You liked the sound of infants screaming in pain?

I do.

I forbade my wife from dressing up her new baby doll in earrings, because she was my little girl, not a doll.

The girl got her ears peirced when she was two, and that little fad lasted only a year or two, but only after she asked for it and was made to understand the issues involved as best she could.

We got our baby's ears pierced at 2 months and she looks adorable now at 10 months. To each their own, eh?

Here's something I find disturbing, I actually know some people who are in favor of circumcision but are addamantly opposed to docking a dogs tail or cropping it's ears.

WTF is up with that?

For what it's worth, my son did not scream or cry. He slept through it.

Well....send a note to the AAP for me.

Dear AAP.

It's not your dick.

Signed,

SA.

That little note there? That's the whole issue, in four words.

Hmm, I'm confused where "its not your dick" somehow proves there's no medical justification. You did say that right?

Scarecrow Akhbar said:
There's no medical justification for neo-natal routine circumcisions, only financial considerations for the doctor and hospital.

Yep.

There ARE medical justifications. You can believe that's not worth while enough to have it done to your child, or feel the risks of it outweight those benefits, that's your right. You can even be of the belief that it shouldn't be done because you feel its unfair to the child and its not "your dick". But none of that changes the fact that the AAP does state that there are legitimate medical reasons why one may wish to do it. It being your dick or not doesn't change that as a fact.

Perhaps that they agree with the AAP, they felt there were legitimate medical reasons for it and the benefits outweighed the risks, so they chose to have it done?

But no, it must be because they like hearing infants scream.

Lucky him. My cousins were not so lucky.

Well, because THAT would be inhumane. Cutting part of a child's penis off is a-okay. But docking a dog's tail or ears? Why you monster, you!

The foreskin protects the penis from sunburn and abrasion when we go out naked to hunt and gather.

And god knows that's need Saz because when I'm out hunting and gathering I'm always swinging it around like i'm freaking Dr. Manhattan or something. ;)

Yawn. I'm uncut, could have it done now if i wanted to. I have never had any problems. I love these studies though, "decreases the risk.. IF you don't use protection" /epic fail.

Sorry but I have never had any infections, or complaints about my dick and it gets the job done. It's called taking a ****ing shower and washing your dick with something that some of you may have heard of... may be going out on a limb here.. soap!

I might have my kids done, I may not, depends on if I hear of any "real" research that actually convinces me. So far all I hear is.. if you sleep around a lot and don't use protection than you can get more infections because of the foreskin.. yawn. It's called don't be a dumb ****. Another worthless "study". Find me something that says no chick will blow me, cause by my current rate, you are dead wrong.

For something as harmless and temporary as ear peircings, sure.

Circumcision isn't harmless and isn't temporary.

My daughter had more problems with her ear piercing (at 9) than my sons did with their circs. ;)

I'm not really for or against (in a huge way) I think though it should be up to the person not the parents. I do not believe parents should have the right to cut off a piece of "my body" because they have heard that it can be beneficial IF "I'm a dumbass and don't use protection or bathe" Look if you think your kid is gonna be a dumb **** who doesn't do those 2 things, you should have had an abortion because he is gonna **** up the gene pool. And btw, all you women (APS and the rest) who claim that abortion is your right because it's "your body". I have heard many women claim that men should have no say in abortion because it's your body. Well, if i may, please do not have an opinion on circumcision considering you have no ****ing clue about it because you are not men, and it is not your body.

Well.....

1. Why act like it is women making the decision about circing a son? Plenty of men (circ'ed and not) make the decision to circ their sons.

2. Parents make decisions ALL OF THE TIME that can have lifelong effects on the bodies of their kids. Why should circs be any different? Should I not give my kid a vaccine when he's 2 months old because he might not choose that (or any effects of that decision) when he's 20? This whole thing about "lopping off a body part" is just  .

I don't have strong opinion either way (can see both sides of it) but the hysteria and anger here from the anti-circ folks is rather .... strange.

I'm not angry bro, relax. Cutting off the foreskin because your kid might not wash his dick or your kid might be a dumb ass who sleeps around without protection, kinda seems dumb to me. If your kid is not gonna use proper hygiene and protection, than he probably deserves to be dead. I mean that may sound harsh but for real. If you have to cut a piece of your kids dick off because you are afraid that he cannot properly wash himself , that kid is probably going to fail at life and **** up the gene pool.

Wow. I think that's a pretty low blow when a poster here (StandUpChuck) said her son is missing a kidney and the specialist recommended that, in an abundance of caution likely, he get circ'ed. Because, nope...a little foreskin isn't worth him risking his kidney and therefore his life, I'm sure.

Most men I know aren't as "attached" to their foreskin as you seem to be (pun intended ;) ) and some women I know are totally grossed out by it so I really see circumcision as no biggie TYMMV.

Not to mention I was also the poster who said certain aged boys refuse to use soap. Obviously I was speaking from experience, and since I'm not a boy or a pedophile, that suggests from whence I'm coming.

I have a lot more I'd like to say to that guy, but it's not worth my account here.

I love how you "assume" i was referencing that woman's post when in fact I never read it. I was referring to the fact that people get it just because it's "easier to clean, and how it reduces HIV infections on people who DO NOT wear condoms" But nice :spin: It was cute. How did you come up with what I said was somehow referring to where in medical cases where circing is needed I somehow was against that? You are out of your mind. And if both of you truly think that people who sleep around without protection and spread disease and don't teacher proper hygiene should be alive, shame on both of you for ruining humanity as we know it.

No. To each his own.

Clearly, you've never seen this:
