NKorea reasserts right to satellite launch
Does anyone believe the NK government for a second? A communications satellite? How can they justify such an obvious lie given that it is illegal for NK citizens to even own cell phones and watch satellite t.v.?
A 2006 UN Resolution forbids NK from engaging in the development of ballistic missile technology. While such technology would not be a direct threat to Europe or the U.S., both would suffer effects if the technology was used to disrupt the regional economic forces in Asia.
Article said:]North Korea has declared its intention to send a communications satellite into space between April 4 and 8, and a defense analyst said recent images of the launch pad indicated preparations were continuing. Regional powers suspect the North will use the launch to test its long-range missile technology, and has warned Pyongyang the launch would trigger international sanctions.
