1. I don't even understand what you are trying to get at.
2. Political freedom my friend, some of the greatest reforms of America were responses to the American Socialist party ran by Eugene Debs who was imprisoned for no reason.
I support no one who goes to war against anyone elses ideology, war is the excuse politicians pull out of there ass when they failed there constituents and/or have no better solution.
The whole red scare was a political movement aimed at keeping Americans in the dark at the real issue at hand, a fight for natural resources. In the end America won, but does that justify the situation. What are the wars now?
A fight for natural resources.
4. It's an infomercial with comedy in it, the comedy takes back stage to whatever the network is trying to push onto people. Whether it is the hot new tv show, or the hot new movie, it is geared towards selling a certain goods while keeping you moderately entertained.
Not the kind of show the president should be on.
5. Get over yourself for a second, not everything in the world should be a commodity. The presidents image shouldn't be the hot new commodity that people rave about.
6. Sporting events are different than infomercials geared at selling you the hot new item, and that is what Late Night comedy shows are. Over glorified infomercial segments with comedy as an add-on. Appearances in public are fine, even on news programs and the like. Leno is a show geared towards selling pop culture, Obama by god better not become a pop culture icon tell he proves his worth.
It's like your giving the prince the throne to the castle before he becomes king.
Good lord. I bring up two presidents, two top men of their game, and why they were concerned with image, you go on a rant about Vietnam (why, I don't know), I tell you why it was difficult to escape getting into a conflict in that region, then you say you don't care, then I explain further, then you have absolutely no idea what I am talking about (go figure), and you randomly bring up Eugene Debbs and continue ranting (and I stopped reading shortly thereafter).
I regret going into any examples of history, because you clearly have no conception of how to use it for debate and cannot keep focus.

And the venue has been used by politicians for a very long time now, and it is generally accepted? Only now because Obama has been considered a media darling (no doubt he is, much to my regret), has there even been the slightest of controversy. Look at how the venue has been used, suck it in, and accept reality.

That's part of politics in the modern age. How much clearer does it need to be shown to you for you to understand that? That's not me being an egotist (how does that work, again? I don't even like Jay Leno), that's politics.

It's still degenerating the worth of the office, right? I mean, the President of the United States throwing a baseball, when he is not a baseball player, and he's doing it for the goofy photo opportunity. It's still the same song and dance for you, except it doesn't have that icky consumerism behind it.
