Obama sorry for disability remark

I don't give a rats arse about the disability joke. I'm offended that our sitting President used Leno as an "address of the nation" of sorts. I find it insulting that during a time of stress and woe he went for the interview he could fully control and the audience that doesn't know ****. I'm upset at the precedent it sets.

YouTube - Obama

What....the **** are you going on about? I'm not even kidding. What 'address the nation'. He cracked a few jokes about how his life as president has changed and what he's dealing with right now. This is no more an 'address the nation' the Bush calling Rush on his birthday. Lighten the **** up. ;)

The nation is going goofy over the AIG fiasco and the employees who are now receiving death threats because congress threw them under the bus. Our president goes on Leno and pretends to be stunned "stunned" over some crap he himself knew god damn well about.

It was an "address the nation" of sorts. A "thank god the nation is retarded" propaganda bit where he controls the questions and jokes his way through his part in the fiasco. It's embarrassing, juvenile, and an insult to my intelligence. What's next? A foreign policy discussion on MTV where Obama fields questions from the hard hitting Russel Brand? Freaking disgrace.

Are you being irrational on purpose?

You think Leno is an appropriate forum for the sitting President? You think it's ok for him to make jokes about bowling in an interview he can control while the federal reserve decides to throw caution to the wind and gamble buying up $300 billion of US debt?

Personally I think the dude should be too busy for Leno. I think feigning "I'm stunned" over the AIG mess is a tad beneath his position and something he shouldn't have time for at the moment.

Obama's facing tough criticism from all ends for the first time and Leno is his chosen format? That's ok with you? I find it to be intellectually dishonest and a gamble that the average American has **** for brains. I'm hoping like hell that gamble bites him in the ass rather than paying off or we really are that stupid.

Dude....Reagan was 70 when he became president. 78 when he left. Do you really buy that he didn't have Alzheimer in some form during his presidency? Alzheimer doesn't just show up when you're like 85.

Just sayin'....

Talk about hyper-partisan bs. Was he making a distance diagnosis? Or a political statement? You are reaching for justification for your hyper-partisan attacks on President Reagan, but you don't get a pass on this.

Obama is doing exactly what he said he would do: staying in touch with the people.

OMG! The horror! A POTUS that cares enough to keep it real and appear on the Leno Show! I think he should step down asap for not being a "proper" Prez.

Look there is a new kinda prez is town and his name is Obama! Get with the program peeps!

I want to note that I am proud that Obama right after saying the gaffe apologized and realized it was not ok.

What I am not proud with is the fact that people continue to act as if comparing your horrendous scores in bowling to handicapped athletic games is ok.

The arguement that he is a person to and he makes mistakes is not a valid excuse, it never is for a leader in his position. He has the top spot, and by god I hope we didn't elect a joe the plumber to fix this god damn mess we got into.

Obama isn't Joe the plumber or Bob the plumber, he is Obama the president and lets hope things such as these seize to happen in the future.

Also going on Jay Leno really isn't helping his cause, Leno is a late night comedy show, the only reason his show exists is to promote other popular forms of media. Obama isn't a popular form of media that needs to be promoted, so going on the show should not be in Leno's priority or the presidents.

Please. Leno is excited to make history having on a sitting President. Beyond that what does Leno care? His reputation isn't in politics. Obama went for the easy appearance and that was apparent to anyone with a half a brain in their head. Jon Stewart on the Comedy channel would have been a harder hitting interview. The Leno interview was insulting. A slap in the face to folks who actually care about the answer to, "Just what in the hell are they thinking?" Obama appealed to tards and in tard like fashion the only thing they picked up on was the tard joke.

Appearing on Leno is keeping it real? 'bout real as the whole "I'm stunned, positively stunned," bit. " Appearing on Leno during a financial crisis is about a half step above appearing on the Tyra Banks show. It's an embarrassment. I don't currently give a crap about the dudes bowling scores, his basketball, etc. I want to know why he's feigning indignation on AIG and why he thinks it's wise to allow the fed to take such a historical gamble in our current situation. I want to know why he's comfortable and not afraid of inflation given the high risk of the feds action. I could give a crap about his bowling score and some retard jokes. The whole retard thing was a pun. Get it?

I think people are forgetting the only reason why Leno has a late night comedy show is so he can promote things for people to hopelessly follow. That's why they always have muscians coming on the shows, actors promoting movies, and famous tv show actors promoting their new season of butt **** sitcom only idiots care about.

This is not the kind of show a politician needs to go on, it sends the wrong message. It is sending the message that Obama is a type of media for people to digest and is everything that is wrong with our consumer culture.

Going on Leno isn't serving the American people, it is entertaining us.

As for McCain or Bush going on programs such as these, it is the same deal, politicians are not a form of entertainment. They shouldn't be treated as such, and that is all Leno's show is meant to be, a way to promote new and exciting forms of entertainment to make us feel like our pathetic lives are that much less pathetic.

Obama is doing exactly what he said he would do: staying in touch with the people.

1. I'd prefer he went away for months at a time.
2. What he is doing is certainly not "touching".
3. He is "prodding" in areas he has no business and using the biggest weapon known to mankind. The full force of the United States Government.
4. Being a free person I want him and his teleprompter out of my life. Go touch someone else... and be sure to rubber up when you do.
You and your Obamatrons have ****ed way too much with this country already.

We're sore and sick from all the prodding.

He should just stick to throwing out first pitches and telling NASCAR drivers to start their engines and then go back to letting his press secretary spin things huh?

If Bush or Cheney would have said it the libs would be up in armor calling for their heads. Notice how Obammy seems to inject humor in to nearly every answer? If he is so inexperienced in being interviewed that isin total contradictiona as to why he was elected. He was elected because of his rhetoric but now his mouth is slowly burying him. His Secai lolympics remarks was incredible when you consider he is THE person in Anmerica that is NOT supposed to make stupid remarks. I cringed every time GWB opened hs mouth, now it appears we have to suffer four more years of the same.

the irony being that Reagan was literally the closest we've ever had to a medically retarded president since like Wilson

Of course you have a source and facts to support your assertions right?

It is sad, yet amusing how every thread started eventually leads to Bush or Reagan thanks to some Liberal desperately attempting to project or divert attention from the ineptness of Liberal politicians using lies and distortions.

You realize he explained his quote slightly later, stating that Reagan's Alzheimers was the reason for his comment. That essentially the damage done to the brain from it would be the closest to being on par with actual mental retardation. He seemed to be taking it from an actual logical thought process rather than the typical "Bush iz retard cause he talk funnY!" line of thinking you'd normally see.

Just sayin'....

Desperate diatribe aside, it is quite idiotic to make the statement your Liberal pal made about Reagan having been the only President to have been really retarded while in office and then attempt to defend it with this rabid nonsense.

But then, who would ever accuse you two of intellectual honesty. Carry on your absurd and childish diatribes about things you both absolutely show no coherent ability to comprehend is only exceeded by your childish juvenile attempts to impugn those who would disagree with your nonsensical points of view.

Meanwhile, Obama continues to prove that he has the intellectual capacity of a lemming with such idiotic interviews and commentaries.

Speaking of retarded, how stupid does this sound:

You're defending his false assertions? What a trite yet fascinating theory but hardly surprising from you.

So please explain how his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s years after he left office substantiates the absurd and idiotic claim that he is the only President who was actually retarded in office and then assist me by explaining how Alzheimer’s is a form of mental retardation.

Good lord, you can't make this crapola up people.

Exactly what world do you live in where "closest to" has the same definition and means "actually same as"?

I thought the "medical" bit and the reference to Wilson (who had full on total bat **** nuts Alzheimer's) would have made it clear.

I also like that he decided that I claimed that Reagan was the "only retarded president" AFTER I referenced Wilson (a pillar of modern progressivism no less) in the FIRST post.

What planet do you live on where you defend the following statement?

the irony being that Reagan was literally the closest we've ever had to a medically retarded president since like Wilson

I'm sorry, but there is no TRUTH or REALITY to the above statement unless you wallow in self induced denial or willingly suspend disbelief.

By the way, what does the above statement have to do with the thread topic? Aren’t you the “defender” of forum threads staying on topic and relevant?

But of course it is hardly surprising to see you defend such abject nonsense on a forum filled with such buffoonery.

Carry on.

Better than lying and hawking policy on Leno.

Because it is a quick gesture in lowbrow public relations in comparison with a slightly more lengthy process in lowbrow public relations?

You continue to wallow in your diatribe; what part of Reagan’s condition happened while he was in the Presidency? What facts do you have to support such delusional accusations?

Since when has Alzheimer been considered mental retardation? Do you ever deal in reality or fact or are you just here to make asinine assertions based on your rabid hyper partisan personal opinions?

Perhaps rabid Liberals think it is humorous to make fun of Reagan's condition and think that Alzheimer’s is a disease one can make lame jokes about; but there is nothing factual in your original assertion and it was far from humorous if that was your original intent.

What does this even have to do with the thread topic? This is about as inane as Zyphlin’s desperate attempts to defend it.

Let’s recap, Obama makes a lame joke on a late night talk show about retarded people and is forced to apologize for it and you want to wallow way off topic with the FALSE assertion that Reagan was the closest to a retard we ever had as a sitting President while in office. DUH.
