Vancouver porn theatre may get XXXed

Article said:
A pornographic movie theatre in Vancouver's eastside neighbourhood may become history following complaints that it attracts sex workers.

The Fox Cinema on Main Street near Kingsway has been screening hard-core pornography for the last 35 years.

Vancouver city hall will consider suspending or revoking its business licence during a public hearing scheduled for next Tuesday. The city's licence department said Thursday that the hearing is quasi-judicial. The department wouldn't give further comment.

Some neighbouring businesses said the theatre's clientele behaves like the actors in the films it shows.

The city of Vancouver is sugar coating this action by claiming sex workers have been seen there, but because the shop has been open for 35 years I am inclined to not believe them. With the 2010 Olympics just over a year away, this is a political move.

My question is... is it fair to revoke a business license based on complaints alone? Do complaints constitute proof of wrongdoing?

Perhaps it is political.
Perhaps not.

There's still lots of peeler joints for the boys and girls to frequent.
