US Treasury to reclaim AIG cash

You're missing the point entirely.

If it's decided that they need to be loaned the money, fine.

When politicians drum up a bunch of hype because 0.01% of the loaned money is going to contractual payroll, clearly we can see that this is nothing more than a class envy stunt.

Divide and concur.

It's one thing if the self-proclaimed Masters of the Universe award themselves bonuses out of money stolen from investors, quite another if that money comes from taxpayers. No matter how small $140 million may seem to you, it came from the pockets of hard working people, and should not be handed out as if it was monopoly money.

I think you missed the part where there $140Mil is pre-existing payroll.

I seems that you also missed the part were this money is going to people who are being laid off.

This is nothing more than class warfare.

I pray you can find the strength to rise above it.

Yes, thats a wonderful idea. From the WSJ:

Crisis on Wall Street : Questions and Answers on AIG

Do you understand the economic implications if this were to happen? We cannot let them fail.

Right now I'm far more concerned with the implications of a world bank and a congress ready and willing to sell us down the river to the banking elite in general. Banking elitist who manipulate the markets for their own benefit. Oh yes we mustn't let AIG fail. Better to quickly quickly sell our souls, our future, our ideals, and American way of life to these elitist masterminds who promise to be our saviors. God help us all. And the only thing standing between us and the banking elites are freaks like Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, and the distracting cult of personality puppet Obama.

I don't give a crap about the AIG bonuses. I'm too freaked out by the entire situation to focus on some insignificant piece of the equation.

These "executives" whom created the fraud should be jailed.
When you claim to have something you don't have and then sell it to a consumer, that's called fraud. I'm surprised the gov isn't persuing criminal charges on AIG employees.

What fraud? Criminal charges? For what? What laws have been broken?

None.

They are in business to make money. The followed the laws that let them behave in this manner. The laws written by our elected officials.

US Treasury to reclaim AIG cash?

Not.

Dodd just confessed that he put language into the "stimulus" package allowing the bonuses.

Odd to see FOX news and Republicans on the class envy bandwagon.

I don't think the Republican spin has congealed on this yet.

You're right, the takeaway from this is that it's the Republicans who are most frantically spinning things.
