Selling sex legally in New Zealand

Yay for taxing slavery :2wave:

Regulated prostitution fails every time it's tried.

Prostitution is not slavery. There are quite a many places in Nevada where it not only works, but the women make quite a bit a money.

Yes, there is ALWAYS the change for rape, murder, abuse in a profession like prostitution. However, police officers put their lives on the line each and everyday and know the risks that come with. So do prostitutes, but unlike police officers, prostitutes get paid better.

So? They don't when they start out. When they start they **** strange men for money.

So? Women **** strangers all the time. I've seen women do it for drinks in a bar and that isn't illegal. I've seen women do it because they were simply horny. One can see a lot as a bartender.

Morals are probably the most subjective thing out there. If you do not feel your morals allow you to be a prostitute, then do not be one. That is a choice you made, let everyone else make that choice for themselves also. Some people find flipping burgers to be against their morals.

The point here is that people make choices like this that affect their own lives. No one person's morals are a standard for everyone else to follow.

Prostitutes will never loose their stigma. Folks can argue the merits of ****ing for money till word's end and a whore will still be a whore. Nobody wants their mother, their sister, their daughter, or even their son out there ****ing strange desperate pervs for money. Nobody. So no matter how much you all applaud it and act like it's a choice lifestyle it all sounds like b.s. Most folks don't even want their daughter dating a jerk let alone allowing one to exchange money for sex. It's low. It always be viewed as kinda scummy. Trashy. The women involved will always come off as mostly desperate and damaged. I see no reason to applaud New Zealand.

But go ahead. Clap away. I've said my piece.

A LOT better. And treated a lot better too.

Agreed, pushing it underground make females more unsafe. I'd rather it was legalised and regulated.

I do not think this way about prostitutes, I actually admire them for doing what they want and not caring about what certain people think of them.

There's a difference between getting drunk and having a one night stand because it was fun and appealed to you at the time vs. stripping down when a man pulls out his wallet and getting paid to do what you're told...in bed.

Don't you think there's a difference between a guy who may have had a few one night stands in his lifetime and the guy who pays for whores? I do.

I know people that want their daughter to marry rich. If that isn't ****ing for money I don't know what is....

Yeah whores are very admirable.

So the job has a stigma attatched to it. So what? Plenty of jobs have stigmas attatched to them. I didn't feel too dignified working at Burdger King with my paper hat. Used car salesmen have a stigma for being lying deceitful scumbags. People who work as garbage men or janitors are often seen as people incapable of doing anything more meaningful or demanding.

And again, there are plenty of things I wouldn't want my daughter doing. I wouldn't want her voting Democrat, but I don't propose we outlaw voting Democrat. The standard for legality isn't "would I want my children doing it"?

It's a male who is paying for a service ... a service a women is happy to provide. What is the issue?

It's a win/win situation for both parties

Hey you won't hear me advocating gold digging. Two sides of the same coin as far as I'm concerned.

Either way you give up on love and real relationships in favor of some debauchery.

Most prostitutes I know only do what they want to do in bed.

Morally speaking? Not really. Both guys had sex outside of marriage and that's the issue morally.

Only if you equate love and sex.

Well one of the major issues is that legalizing prostitution can create a demand that far outweighs the number of women volunteering themselves for whoredom. Rarely is a whore always a whore. If she has any sense and is able to muster up a modicum of self worth she'll ultimately get out of the business. So the overturn rate is huge. Meanwhile the demand grows and the market can't sustain it. That's when the sex slaves and human trafficking are ushered in to feed the demand. And yeah I got a bit of a problem with that.

Also, aside from all the people clapping for prostitution the truth about prostitution is that it's ugly, often involves underage girls who ran away from horrible homes, drug addicts, and all around desperate damaged women whose very flesh is treated like a commodity on the market.

Of course they do. Only the lowest common denominators and the minority (the streetwalkers) would feel inclined to do something they didn't want to do, or screw someone they didn't want to screw. If prostitution were legal, though, those women wouldn't have to feel that fear of violence from clients or 'pimps', since they would have legal recourse to stop it and/or punish it.

The majority of prostitutes (those that are NOT streetwalkers) do not do anything they don't want to do, and do not **** anyone they don't want to ****.

Can't really say the same about waitresses though. Waitresses have to take **** from customers with a smile. They have to do everything their customers ask, with a smile. And for crap pay.

If prostitution were made legal I think everyone would be surprised by the number of prostitutes. It seems to me that you are only disliking the idea because of your own paranoid views of what most likely wouldn't happen. If it was somewhat regulated, I fail to see how sex slaves would come into play. In fact, I think like with the web porn industry there would be a lot of women working independently.

Prostitution can be that way of course. That doesn't mean that it is inherently like that, though. It's just sex.

Wouldn't that mean it is better for the Government to legalise and regulate it?
Inside UK, It is some of those types of girls that walk the street and the problem is because of a few upstart people - Prositution has gone underground meaning the police cannot protect or know what is happening increasing the danger.

Yes, there is a difference. The latter guy is honest. The former is not. (Unless the former guy told the one night stands that the sex was exactly that... but they rarely do)

LOL Yes, many people do have archaic views and disillusions such as yours on the matter. But eventually, people will come into the modern era and see the actual truth.
