The funny thing about it is that he and I are actually aligned on the same general side of the issue. It's just that he hasn't presented the argument in a coherent fashion because he's too busy repeating the same tired bull**** line of "your nuh-us notwithstanding". And he's too damned obtuse to stop and realize the he's even spelling "nuh-uh" wrong. :lol:

See, there you go again. You have to make up things that people say so that you can justify, in your own mind only, puffing up your chest and cawing "I win, I win".

If you just once answered what was said by a real post and not just the imagined posts that only you seem to be seeing, you might make a giant stride toward not being the single most dishonest hack on this site.

I mean, aquapub, for all his faults, at least attempts to ground himself in the conversation and not some addled fantasy bulletin of his own creation.

If you or anyone else has indeed, as you and CC claim, shown, in specific term, how my argument is wrong, you can supply the post that does that.

Thus far, you have not done so, even after continued attempts to get you to do so -- instead, all you do is misdirect, obscure and insult.

So... put up or shut up.

Agreed. So basically where we were was that the VA health care system IS a socialist mechanism but that it is one reserved exclusively (justifiably so) to the troops as a compensation for them serving the country.

Well, the left has coopted the word "liberal" so there's nothing else to call it. Leftist, socialist, etc. will all carry a negative connotation in lieu of their historical failure.

As a veteran my first reaction to this was "what the **** are you doing Mr. President?" I am hyper sensitive to any mention of messing with veterans benefits. I agree with most of those here that these benefits were absolutely earned and very much deserved. However after reading much about this issue I don't think there was anything nefarious going on. I just think that Obama floated a very bad idea that someone in his circle of advisers concocted and pitched to him as an "everybody wins" type of thing. I seriously doubt he dreamed this up himself. His commitment to this idea was obviously very weak as it was dropped rather quickly. It also faced by-partisan opposition which is very important considering some of the retarded bull**** that was being slung here about the left hating our troops (a big "go **** yourself" to the haters on that one). Now we can speculate why Obama backed off so quickly, and I know that we will all have our opinions. It has definitely made me look at him with a more critical eye, but I'll live.

Regardless, it was dropped and that is very important. Our vets deserve the very best we can give them, without question.

And a big shout out to my man jallman...I think I may have reached close to double digit thanks in this thread because of your work here. You know why. I laughed my ass off at a couple of posts in particular. Thank you good sir!
