Iran, militant groups support Sudanese president

KHARTOUM, Sudan – Senior leaders of Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah offered international support Friday to Sudan's president after he was charged with war crimes in Darfur, a sign that the bid to prosecute him could sharply radicalize his regime.

For a third straight day, President Omar al-Bashir's supporters marched and vowed to defend him against what his government called a "colonial" conspiracy to overthrow him. Hundreds emerged from mosques after Friday prayers, chanting "jihad," or holy war, and shouting, "With our souls and blood, we will sacrifice ourselves for you, al-Bashir."

This thread was created for all you who still believe Iran, Hamas, and Hizballah (all acting togther ... imagine that) can be reasoned with.

These are terrorists supporting a murderous lunatic who has been indicited for warcrimes.

Those here who like to defend Iran, Hizballah, and Hamas, should view this thread as a wake-up call.

And what about the U.S. who supported Iraq after Saddam Gassed his own people?

The fact of life in the world is countries make alliances with who can help them the most at the time. Iran is no different nor is the U.S.

Do I support what Iran is doing? No. Did I support the U.S. when they supported Iraq? No.

But that is beyond what is being discussed.

France and China also both avoid action against Sudan, because of oil ties. It's not just Middle Eastern governments.

Do you have a citation for France?

EDIT:

THis article seems to suggest otherwise for France.

Moscow and Beijing back the AU and Arab push for a suspension. But the United States, Britain and France -- which like Russia and China are permanent council members with veto powers -- have said they see no reason to halt the process.

However, this thread is about the indictment of al-Bashir, something that France seems to be siding with the US and UK on and not the thugs in Beiping and Moscow.

You asked me to support my claim that France tends to not support action against Sudan. I did that.

Now you are saying it's not relevant to the specifics of this thread. I agree, in which case why did you ask me to prove my irrelevant point?

You never learn.

You are the one who brought it up. I then came up with a link that shows that France has no problem moving forward with the indictment and trial of al-Bashir.

I brought up France and China to balance out the Middle Eastern perspective. It was you who asked for a citation on France. Have some accountability for the things you say. I am not here to "win", but to contribute information. Admitting what you said is not that big of a deal.

That is all I will say about this, as I do not want to continue derailing the thread.

Except that the inclusion of France is a LITTLE bit disingenuous because they do not object to the indictment and going ahead on it.

You just can't let it go, can you?

I was referring to their general stance on Sudan. Nowhere did I mention the current motion, it was you who did and it was you who assumed that's what I was talking about. Now let it go.

If you do not agree with what Iran's actions, why are you offering counter support to what I said?

Do you like being disagreeable? Do you suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder?

What gives dude?

Just because I don't support what they are doing, doesn't mean I don't understand why they are doing it.

What I said wasn't counter-support it was pointing out the U.S. plays the same game you seem to hate.

Ok.

Fair enough!
