Deputy Accused of Using Excessive Force on Teen Girl

Did he loose his job? I hope so.

According to one source he is currently on paid leave pending an investigation.

I am not pleased with this. He needs to be fired.

I could care less. When I was in the Marines we were held to a high standard of conduct and when we deviated from that standard we were punished severely. Visual evidence of a Marine doing something like that to an Iraqi girl would have resulted in loss of rank, loss of pay, hard time in the brig, and most likely a dishonorable discharge. If abuses come to light in the military there aren't any slaps on the wrist or paid vacations.

I'm sick and tired of the constant thuggery and cronyism. All my major experiences with the police have been absolutely awful and almost every time something like this happens it seems justice is never served. From hence forth I will regard officers of the court with suspicion and doubt.

I agree.

Semper Fi!

THis video is absolutely disgusting.

I'm usually one to reserve opinion until I get both sides, but this video is enough for me. It's obvious the officer was irritated and completely lost his cool. He not only punches her twice while she's cuffed on the ground, but pulls her hair to drag her down, lift her up, and direct her out of the cell. How unprofessional is that alone? Jeepers.

Officers who cannot control their tempers have no right to be in the police force. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

This same officer shot and killed an unarmed mentally ill man three years ago. I suspect his stint as a jail deputy resulted from his inability to behave in public.

In defense of this police officer..well there is no defense; apparently he is at the wrong job for his personality, he should be doing something else, like sweeping floors....
Who hired him ?
And the "puppy dog assistant, what was he doing ?
IMO, the entire system stinks..
The trouble with this situation is that we do not know the whole story...we know just a little.....
Major improvements can be made.....
These policemen must face and handle the dregs of society 24/7..They do need to be cut a break.
.

I agree with that assesment.

The puppy dog assessment should've done something to assist that child. If he cannot see a criminal because that criminal is wearing a sheriff's uniform, then he doesn't belong behind the badge.

He did nothing to help the situation. He should've tried to help that girl.

He is a disgrace.

From what I saw from the video the violence was way over the top. Police are trained how to handle these situations and NONE of them include slamming a suspects face against the wall or picking up and slamming them by the hair. I am a major in Criminal Justice and take many law enforcement classes at the University of Mississippi. I have multiple teachers who were former FBI, DEA, and regular cops. They all say that force is only used when your life is in danger. They also agree that there are bad cops out there and when they pull this type of ****, they need to have their asses thrown in jail, and most of my teachers are conservative, but they know the law, and hate scumbags like this guy with a passion. And whoever said "most cops just get a slap on the wrist." Nice.. did you pull that out of your butt? I believe you did. Most cops who abuse people like this lose their job, and more than likely serve some time. Which I believe will be exactly what both if not just 1 of these cops will get.

And he will get a year maximum. What do you think would happen to me if I did the same exact thing to some mouthy 15 year old girl on a 7/11 camera as a average joe civilian?
I think that whatever I would get. The cop needs double.

I hope you also predict a hefty civil suit from the girl and her parents that leaves the bad cop working for her for the rest of his life. Pension and all.

Sorry, I'm just used to the Canadian law enforcement getting away with blatant criminal action, like the RCMP. Whenever an RCMP officer does something questionable, only an internal pannel reviews it, not an independent one. I am quite jaded when it comes to police and federal law enforcement.

Clearly ... that cop needs a nice course of scotum hair electrolisis ... by way of a cattle prod.

More like a rectumectomy with a pair of forceps attached to a rope and a speeding truck.

She was smart mouthing the officers as she kicked her shoes off thinking they would not retaliate to teach her a lesson. Maybe she will learn a little respect or maybe she will get her ass put in place again.

Why am I not surprised that you actually defended this crap?

A man beating a woman...and especially an underage girl... in that manner is done by and defended by ******s who couldn't take a real man in a fight.

I hope you don't have any kids.

Nothing you say hence forth will be regarded with a modicum of credibility. Anytime you attempt to rebutt someone's argument we will simply reference this quote which aptly demonstrates your mental instability and cowardice.

Your contempt for women is obvious and I pray you do not have a wife or daughters as they would not be safe in your presence.

Not trying to defend rhinefire here, but just curious...

If the one assaulted had been a man (or boy, I suppose), does that make the assailant any less of a coward?

Not really because you know the asshole would have hidden behind his "authoritah" and his badge if he actually had to suffer a punch from a man.

News flash. Physically boys and girls are different. Pound for pound they are not created equal.

So your answer is yes?

If a cop beating a 15 year old girl is a 75 out of 100 on a badness scale. Then a cop beating a 15 year old boy would be 70 in my books. Unless the boy had the physical structure of a girl and could defend himself less maybe. A cop beating me would be more like a 50 because I'm not going to let him abuse me and try to deflect as many blows as I can without hitting him kinda.

And because I defended myself the world would see it as less bad.

What's really screwed up is if that girl had defended herself in any way whatsoever, she would have had charges and further vilifications thrown at her. Anyone who defends themselves against a police officer gets that.

I don't know how you would figure that, but as I see it, whether the assaulted was a man, a women, a boy, or a girl, they were still under custody. The assailant also had another person to help him. Whether you have slightly higher percentage in muscle mass, or if you carry a pair of testicles, you'd probably end up just the same as the girl.

The cowardice shown here does not depend on the victim's gender, at all. The cowardice here is taking advantage of the powerless. The circumstance in which the victim was in, is what makes them powerless, not gender.

Oh god yeah. The cops can beat the **** out of you, but don't you dare try to protect yourself cause then you're really ****ed. They'll say "resisting arrest" or "assault and battery on a police officer" or some other crap like that. You can't fight back against the police, the authority has the guns and the power and they ain't afraid to use it against the People.

Cops like this don't prey on people like me though. :D They prey on little mouthy girls.
