Jobless Angry at Possibility of No Benefits

There we go with Bush on the brain again. It's Bush's package, it's Bush's fault, let's impeach Bush!!!! Bush Bush Bush Bush!!!!!

1) Did not Bush also push a stimulus package, one that is about the same size as Obama's? Yes.

2) Do you see me defending Obama? No.

3) Do you see me defending a Conservative Republican governor? Yes.

Before you troll with your one-liners, you should get your facts straight.

It was for the banking problems. You're a troll, you're a Bush troll everytime you open you mouth. It's like a disease. Get over it, he's gone.

And I countered that it's actually 'votes first'. Not 'Louisiana first'. Not even 'voters first'. Just 'votes'. Bobby Jindal would lose MORE votes in his next election by screwing then poor then by standing by his political beliefs. That's what it all boils down to. Whether or not he wants to be reelected. And given his recent political moves it is clear that he plans to be around for a while. So then in this situation what would he gain from standing by his political beliefs and not the votes that got him into office? Nothing. In the end it's ALL about the votes.

You could claim any action a politician does is to get votes or to set up for some bigger office.

Rather silly commentary there friend.

So is Clinton, but I still bash him. Why? Because we cannot forget what he did to degrade the Oval office. Same with Bush. He passed a stimulus plan too, one that I have an honest disagreement with. Same with Obama. He also pass a stimulus plan, one that I have an honest disagreement with. What is done by leaders, whether Democrat or Republican, present or past, should not be forgotten, lest those same mistakes are repeated.

Now, do you have something to say that is on topic, or are you just going to continue calling people names?

That check I got in the mail last year was for the banking problems? oops, I never got that memo.

Considering the situation? Yes. Bobby Jindal is CLEARLY aiming for higher office. Screwing the people that can get him there? Not a smart idea. Specially on something as expandable as his political beliefs.

Exactly who is he screwing and how?

By not accepting federal money it can be perceived that he is screwing the unemployed.

Not only that but the federal government increased unemployment benefits by $25 a week.

Yes but what happens when that money runs out (and it will), how will the state pay to keep the program running?

Raise taxes and/or beg for more federal dollars.

Like in my state they are taking the feds money for medicaid and they are tagging people with health insurance with a 1.5% "fee" and raising the cigarette tax.

It goes up but never comes back down.

What I foresee happening is that money drying up and Washington saying "Sure, we'll give you more but you have to (insert policy change they want here) before we'll give it to you."

And that, is the end game here IMHO. Once you're hooked, it's really hard to shake that lure out of your mouth.

Exactly, and why is there a need to attatch such strings? Why can't the government just extend unemployment benefits without expanding the program, at the cost of the state?

I'm against extending unemployment benefits. 26 weeks is more than enough time to find a job, and it's already been extended twice in the past year.

Let the funds dry up, and their cupboards run bare, and they'll get off their butts and find employment.

That what nearly always happens. The Feds extract peoples money from forced taxation then tell the states you are free to break from our rules but you loose your taxpayers money.

Its a crime in my opinion.

Read. The. Thread.
You just said in another thread that Jindal is going to accept the money so as NOT to screw the unemployed! Can Jindal do anything to win?

Go put your partisan hackery somewhere else!

No. What I said in another thread was that Jindal brags about cutting taxes while accepting federal money. Stop your lies?

You started the trolling bit, can't take it though eh?

What troll bit? He attacked BOTH Obama's and Bush's stimulus plans. Both of which are related because whether you like it or not will have serious lasting effects on our economy. Whether they are negative or positive remains to be seen but they're both within the same context of the conversation. You're just mad he didn't attack Obama's stimulus plan alone.

Proof of what? That politics is all about votes? You're joking right?
So, I'm guessing you would be prepared to say the same thing about Obama when he dishes out "Tax cuts for the middle class", "national health care" etc.
