Obama victory bash owes city $1.74 mil.

Obama victory bash owes city $1.74 mil. :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: 44: Barack Obama

Naturally the Democratic Party wishes that it be exempt from settling it's bills, but expects every other entity to pay their bills in a timely manner.
After this headline I would expect Obama to give a short and succinct note to whomsoever is responsible.

The DNC has EVERY right to look at the costs on the line by line basis and dispute anything they feel is not right.

It isn't like the DNC is buying a snickers bar at 7-eleven here, there are many things on this bill and they have a right to dispute or look at them and make a decision.

It has been 2 1/2 months now. Don't you think that is enough time to review the bills and pay up? I would love to say this to the phone company, "I will review the records of all the calls you said I made, and once I have verified I made those calls, I will pay up. It might take me three months or so, but I am honest, so trust me."

Yeah right.

Can't you right wing types find another strategy to try and gain influence, like, say, come up with some ideas. This kind of partisan trash isn't working anymore; the election of Obama should have sent that mesage to you al loud and clear. I wasn't an Obama fan, but he, nor the Democrats have done anything that is worth voting them all out yet. This thread is just another fingerpointing thread with no substance. classic republicanism...:

I just got a bill for lab work performed in 2007. It had been submitted twice to my secondary insurance and denied both times because the forms weren't the same ones that were sent to my primary insurance. True story.

I sent the bill and a letter to my secondary insurance. The letter wasn't nice.

My point is that some things take awhile. Some things take a ridiculously long time. It's called review and red tape.

I thought Obama disagreed with all the crap? Especially in a "fiscal emergency."

"A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe."

It seems it's only necssary to take time to review spending when it doesn't interfere with one's political ambitions.

So, it is ok for the Dems to skip out on their bills? Noted.

Your partisinship is noted as well.

IMHO there is no problem with double checking bills.

And where is the DNC "skipping out" on their bills? They are reviewing and possibly refuting some of it.

That is far from skipping out on it. Again, the right is being terribly dishonest when they say otherwise.

They should pay up soon. The city of Chicago is in financial straits right now and the failure to pay is not exactly helping the financial situation of the city of Chicago. They should get on the ball and pay the undisputed part of the charges NOW, and get moving on anything that is disputed.

Who's that?

It would be helpful to see what the agreed upon payment terms were. Honestly, 2-1/2 months isn't that long a time for disputed business transactions. I've held up questionable invoices for longer periods of time than that.
