President Obama has officially arrived at Parliament Hill about 20 minutes ago. There's no shortage of security as the SS has been here for a month, planning the security for the President.

Despite being told to stay home, thousands of people have crammed the downtown area, hoping to catch a glimpse. Without a doubt Barack is popular amongst Canadians.

I can see Parliament from my house and the 2-3 helicopters buzzing over. Image that I'm only 2 kms from the Messiah... I don't think I'll bathe for at least a month. :2razz:

Hundreds of people chanting his name, clapping and cheering treated U.S. President Barack Obama to a hero’s welcome when he pulled up onto Parliament Hill just before noon today.

The crowd, which swelled rapidly in the hours leading to Obama’s arrival, created a circus-like atmosphere behind barricades and extremely heavy security in front of the Canadian Parliament Building.

People waved flags, chanted "Obama" and "Yes we can," in honour of the president prior to and during his arrival. Excitement had mounted as the crowd saw helicopters begin to arrive at the Hill, carrying snipers and additional security teams, in the hour prior to Obama’s arrival.

Beware that the tingling sensation that runs up one's leg in such close proximity to greatness does not lead to blissful dependency! It sounds like one big Orbamagasm!

If I had known beforehand that Obama winning the Presidency would have caused 4 long years of constant, tired and annoying "OBAMA IS THE MESSIAH!" comments like this from hardcore Conservatives like yourself I probably would have voted for McCain.

Dear Canada, please do the American people a favor and keep Obama there!

Thank you in advance. :rofl

Hmm. but You didn't mind the bush complaints?

These comments are just further proof that only uninformed voters vote for Liberal Democrats.

The whining from Liberals is quite fascinating considering they spent the last 8years impugning Bush for everything from aids to Hurricane Katrina.

Get used to it; it's our turn now to show Liberals how naive and juvenile their rants have been for the last 8 years.

Don't blame us for voting wrong.

People all have different reasons for voting. I think it's pretty arrogant for you to judge which reasons are worthy and which ones aren't. I wasn't even going to vote, but decided to at the last minute because it was an historic election and I couldn't stomach the thought of Sarah Palin being the VP.

I guess you and I define whining differently. I agree that there were plenty of Liberals whining during Bush's Administration, but the whining that the Conservatives are constantly displaying now with the whole "Obama is the messiah!" crap is not much different. By the way, I don't take issue with the people who disagree with legitimate issues and have legitimate concerns about Obama and this whole stimulus nightmare. I take issue with people who nitpick over every single ****ing issue and make a huge deal out of it.

Get used to it; it's our turn now to show Liberals how naive and juvenile their rants have been for the last 8 years.

It doesn't change the fact that you are whining just as bad as Liberals did.

link to your complaints? ;)

Ah, so because I didn't make my complaints vocal and more to the point on this forum it must mean that I didn't make them. I see. And you are just the picture of bi-partisan too and that's why you don't nitpick over every single issue about Obama that annoys you. That's why you also gave Bush the same treatment too.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Uhm I started threads on Bush, McCain, Go fish.

And yeah. When you say nothing about bush and all of the sudden need to complain about people discussing Obama.

Selective tantrum noted my friend.

Are you being pointless again? Now go to your room without supper.

Yeah, and there was such a balance between those threads and the plethora of threads that you've started about Obama. Don't even try to play this old song and dance again.

I will admit that when I first came to this board I was far more liberal hyper-partisan than I am now. Since then I feel I've shifted more the middle about issues. I never really was one of those people who criticized Bush about everything under the sun, but I never really was openly vocal about how much they annoyed me either. Does that make me a hypocrite? Perhaps. Hyper-partisans on both sides annoy me because they are both blind to the facts and completely incapable of seeing things any other way than their own. I personally would never want to be that way about anything.

Dude, seriously...in order for your posts to have an effect on me they have to have at least some substance. Your one liners from before at least had a sliver of substance but that seems to have fallen by the wayside over time. That's all I'm saying.

Show me one thread where you complained about people going after bush, otherwise you have no leg to stand on. Sorry.

 so who is a hyperpartisan here?

Uh..still you.

 at who is thanking you. I suppose you think they are not hyper-partisan..... :doh

Right. Because I disagree with Obama on numerous issues. I must be "hyper-partisan"

Grow up.

Note. I thought the NY post's cartoon was abhorrent and in poor taste.

You fail. (see aps thats why)

What you still fail to see though is that not all of the issues you bring up about Obama are legitimate. You have some very legitimate complaints about him I won't deny that and I do agree with you on some of them. However, you bring up some of the most absurd topics and treat them as if they are on the same level as the legitimate topics. So it's not just that you criticize Obama about some issues.

Since you ducked the question. I will ask it more clearly....

Aps an MG thanked you for your attack on me calling my hyper-partisan.

Do you think those two are hyper-partisan or not?

I think that they can be partisan at times like most people on this board, but I certainly wouldn't call them hyper-partisan. There are a group of people on both sides that I would consider hyper-partisan. I'd say the fact that your Obama criticism posts outweigh any other posts that you've started would certainly make you hyper-partisan considering that about 75% of it is pure fluff (most of which is aimed at creating a "gotcha" moment against Obama supporters).

First, just FYI, my politics hang somewhere between conservative and libertarian, but I felt that conservative was closer to the mark, thus, my label. Second, the only reason that conservatives and others can get away with the "messiah" reference is because the so many Obama followers and major news media reporters have made it obvious that they would jump off a cliff like lemmings to follow Obama. I didn't make up this "tingling in the leg" type of stuff. Do you really think that the MSM challenges Obama on any issue? Except for Fox news and conservative talk radio and blogs, no one challenges him - they treat him like a... messiah!

Right. thanks for demonstrating YOUR hyper-partisan selective outrage.

Tell me what has Aps or MG ever agreed with Bush on. Please provide a link.

Show me one pro-bush thread by either of them.

One by you while we are at it as well.

I would hate for you to look foolish. :2wave:

You can also see it here, as the obama lovers will avoid the actual topics and concentrate on attacking any poster who dares critisize obama... IT, DCXVLLI, hautey, aps, etc spend little time discussing the actual issues, and instead seek out anything to attack any poster who dares critisize the one.

Just because they may or not have threads or posts where they agree with Bush has nothing to do with it. I can tell you one thing, though. I'm willing to bet they don't have as many threads disagreeing with Bush as you do disagreeing with Obama. What kills me is that you most likely have more threads and the man has only been President for a month.
