Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters

Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters
Now all that was just complete crap, the end part is the best though, the part that had a white man said this...

Yes that is the job of the JD... to enforce racial understanding....

That's going a bit too far. People (even buttheads) can say what they want, but if they violate the civil rights of anyone, then the Justice Department should get involved. That's what they are there for.

Ever noticed how blacks are the only race accorded a hyphened designation, African-American? How pitiful.

Ever notice how blacks are the only people who can not accord a nationality to their race? Like say 'German-American'?

I've decided that since PBHO is now Prez, everytime Blacks rail against Racist America I laugh at them.

A lot.

African is not a nationality, even Sarah Palin knows that.

Apparently you cannot read.

Re-read Hautey's post and tell me which part of that is him saying that "African" is a nationality.
He's making a point. That "African-American" would be the same as calling white people "European-American"; silly I know.

Re: Attorney General Trashes Americans as "Cowards"

Eric Holder has some serious audacity:

The Right-Wing Underground: Obama's Attorney General Trashes Americans as "Cowards"

The question is: Is it Americans or Democrats who need to man-up and stop being cowards on race?

[I don't know why the poll didn't post, but just post your answers without it]
Democrats use the following ploy in every segment of American society: Divide and Conquer.

They see us not as Americans but as groups to be played like a violin.

As for Holder.

Resign. You're a disgrace. You had the foresight to give mark Rich and a bunch of terrorists a free pass. Now this? Calling Americans cowards.
You judgment is not poor, it's abysmal.

It is you and your ilk Holder, you and your party of race baiters and poverty pimps that has done nothing but seized every little opportunity to keep the issue of race foaming through endless agitation.

The U.S. population's distribution by race and ethnicity in 2006 was as follows:[30][31]

* Total population: 299 million
* White alone: 74% or 221.3 million
o Not including the 23.2 million White Hispanic and Latino Americans: 66% or 198.1 million

You were saying?

Did you forget about the racist products at Republican conventions?

Did you forget people like Trent Lott, or George Allen?

This article from 2002 explains it pretty well.

Lott, Reagan and Republican Racism - TIME

While the US may have elected a black president, the race issues have not gone away. Republicans have for decades used the "head in sand" mentality and dismissed any issues because it was politically advantageous for them. Now that there base is shrinking and they have lost former strongholds, then they suddenly wake up some what and target minorities after years of marginalising and demeaning them.

And no where better does the race issue pop up its head than in the Republican party. How many people of minority were present at the Republican convention and at the just concluded leaders election? Was it even close to be representative of the population at large? Do you really think that by electing a black man to lead a party of mostly white people, that the "race issue" is gone and forgotten? Talk about being in denial.

National Black Republican Association - DYK-Unveiled Democrats Racist Past
History shows that Democrats fought to expand slavery while Republicans fought to end it. From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. Republicans fought to free blacks from slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom (13th Amendment), citizenship (14th Amendment) and the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans also passed the civil rights laws of the 1860's, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 1867 that was designed to establish a new government system in the Democrat-controlled South, one that was fair to blacks.

It was Democrats who started the Ku Klux Klan that became the terrorist arm of the Democratic Party to lynch and terrorize Republicans-black and white. Democrats passed those discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws and fought every piece of civil rights legislation from the 1860’s to the 1960’s. Shamefully, Democrats fought against anti-lynching laws, and when the Democrats regained control of Congress in 1892, they passed the Repeal Act of 1894 that overturned civil right laws enacted by Republicans. Republicans founded the HCBU’s and started the NAACP to counter the racist practices of the Democrats. It took Republicans six decades to finally enact civil rights laws in the 1950’s and 1960’s, over the objection of Democrats.

It defies logic for Democrats today to claim that the racist Democrats suddenly joined the Republican Party after Republicans—including Republican Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.—finally won the civil rights battle against the racist Democrats. In fact, the racist Democrats declared that they would rather vote for a “yellow dog” than vote for a Republican, because the Republican Party was known as the party for blacks.
But defying logic has long been a hallmark of the lunatic left.

Do you forget the race fest during the democrat primaries? All democrat, all the time.

Republican party candidate distributes controversial Barack Obama song - Telegraph

While the US may have elected a black president, the race issues have not gone away. Republicans have for decades used the "head in sand" mentality
Anyone with a little bit of political savvy knew Obama's election would lead to a more heated racial environment. They don't want reconciliation or harmony. It is not in their political interest.

Hope.
Change.
Unity? LOL.

Who has their head in the sand?

How is it that the democrats have had a monopoly over the black community and they still complain about how bad things are?
Perhaps they really need "change", and that means breaking the lock the race baiters have on their constituents.

How is it 90% of one "group" voted one way all the time? Is that not racist? Are they not closed minded?
These would be questions asked if whites did like-kind.

National Black Republican Association - DYK-Unveiled Democrats Racist Past
Until blacks stop voting overwhelmingly for Democrats and start leveraging their votes, as other groups do, there will be no changes in black communities run by Democrats. Black Americans need to stop having their vote taken for granted, seize control over their own destiny and hold politicians accountable for the content of their policies, not the label of their party.

Do I hear an "Amen"?

Nice wording but a big fail. A KKK member elected to office on the Republican ticket. Let me guess, he aint "in leadership"?

Ku Klux Klan Member Elected as Republican Precinct Delegate in Midland - News : MediaMouse Progressive Left News Blog - Grand Rapids, Michigan

OH and the classic.. David Duke. What party was he in when he got elected? OH yea I guess because he was a former grand wizard of the KKK means that he has totally dismissed the views of the KKK.. sure.

Republican's quoting the KKK founder in Congress..

http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/10731.html

And what of J.T. Ready? Is he not "leadership", at least local? or does it only count if it is in national leadership? Oh I know, he is a neo nazi not the KKK.. like there is a difference...

Flake says Republican's neo-Nazi tie hurts GOP

We don't go around claiming we want to castrate minorities either.

No they just advocate assassination and murder. Let me see of the top of my head... Pat Robertson, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter.. oh yea they not Republican's I bet in your eyes.

And of course there is the GOP fog horn... Rush Limbaugh, saying that Democrats are like murders, rapists and wife beheaders.

Or dear Sarah "I have got no clue" Palin telling people that Obama is a terrorist sympathiser and leading rallies where people shout "KILL HIM" and worse. Naw nothing wrong with that.

Or there is John Gibson that compares a black man to a chimp... Oh yea that's Fox News, not affiliated to the Republican movement in any way.

2.40ish in.

But yea, the right does not race bait, call for the death of the opposition, nor compare the political opposition to terrorists and what not. And the moon is made of green cheese.

Hey I will admit that the "left" has some nut jobs, but will you admit that the right has nut jobs too?

So you are saying that 44% of the Republican party are non white too?

Do you have problems with simple mathematics. The amount would be 26% or 34% depending on what you make of "white hispanics".

The problem of race is yours. You are just trying to bring up race because you are obsessed by it as many of the PC crowd are.

Re: Attorney General Trashes Americans as "Cowards"

I don't agree with what the OP is talking about... the U.S. is reatively vanguard when it comes to dealing with ethnic tensions in its nation. I have seen countries way worse, whose minorities are treated like garbage.

That said... race still matters in the United States, and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't understand history. Race is one of those things that has to be an issue before it's a non issue, and right now it is still an issue. It always seems to be white people who claim that racism is no longer an issue, while every other group still has coalitions looking out for minorities.

Try going to another country where you are a minority ethnicity, and then you will see that it is never going to be a non-issue.

History News Network
Most people are either a Democrat by design, or a Democrat by deception. That is either they were well aware the racist history of the Democrat Party and still chose to be Democrat, or they were deceived into thinking that the Democratic Party is a party that sincerely cared about Black people.

History reveals that every piece of racist legislation that was ever passed and every racist terrorist attack that was ever inflicted on African Americans, was initiated by the members of the Democratic Party. From the formation of the Democratic Party in 1792 to the Civil Rights movement of 1960's, Congressional records show the Democrat Party passed no specific laws to help Blacks, every law that they introduced into Congress was designed to hurt blacks in 1894 Repeal Act. The chronicles of history shows that during the past 160 years the Democratic Party legislated Jim Crows laws, Black Codes and a multitude of other laws at the state and federal level to deny African Americans their rights as citizens.

History reveals that the Republican Party was formed in 1854 to abolish slavery and challenge other racist legislative acts initiated by the Democratic Party.

Here is just a sample of the Democrat Party's racist foundation.
Enjoy the experience of education.

Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don't move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there'll be no way of stopping them, we'll lose the filibuster and there'll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It'll be Reconstruction all over again."

"I have never seen very many white people who felt they were being imposed upon or being subjected to any second-class citizenship if they were directed to a waiting room or to any other public facility to wait or to eat with other white people. Only the Negroes, of all the races which are in this land, publicly proclaim they are being mistreated, imposed upon, and declared second-class citizens because they must go to public facilities with members of their own race."

"It has of late become the custom of the men of the South to speak with entire candor of the settled and deliberate policy of suppressing the negro vote. They have been forced to choose between a policy of manifest injustice toward the blacks and the horrors of negro rule. They chose to disfranchise the negroes. That was manifestly the lesser of two evils. . . . The Republican Party committed a great public crime when it gave the right of suffrage to the blacks. . . . What the hell? Please refrain from defaming me.

I did not refer to you nor to the term "nigger", so exactly where your silly ranting comes from I don't know. How about you actually try and compose a reasoned argument for once instead of insulting and defaming people and ranting about PC ****.

PeteEU:

You bring up the paradoy song: "Barak the Magic Negro" in an attempt to claim racist Republicans. What you, adn allt he other people out there trying to use that as some sort of "RACIST" claim fail, either by ignorance or intent...

Is that the SONG is a parody NOT of Mr. Obama, but rather an opinion peice in the LA Times. The origin of the song:

Obama the 'Magic Negro' - Los Angeles Times

No one cried racist then, but they do... becuase a conservative singer, who works with Rush Limbaugh did the song.

Racism is a bad thing, but hypocracy and spreading lies is just as bad.

POV, I think Holder used a poor choice of a word when he used the word coward. Perhaps something more in line with 'some who uses blinders' would have been more appropriate.
