In Denver, Obama signs $787 billion stimulus package

DENVER - Warning that its passage into law "does not mark the end of our economic troubles," President Barack Obama on Tuesday signed the massive $787 billion stimulus package, a measure he called the most sweeping financial legislation enacted in the nation's history.

Obama used the occasion to step away from Washington, choosing not to sign the landmark bill in a White House ceremony surrounded by proud supporters in Congress. Instead, he ventured 1,700 miles away from the capital and its partisan wrangling to the sunny atrium of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, where he called the legislation crucial to injecting new life into the nation's moribund economy.

So this "relief for friends and some, not relief for all" porkzilla is now law.


Do any of our left wing friends care that he broke yet another campaign promise of transparency by not posting this bill on his website before signing it as promised?
 
Are you naive enough to expect that any Politician will actually keep whatever promises they make on their campaign trail leading to whatever office they are elected to?
You have an awful lot of growing up to do.

Well that's it.

Obama had his chance and he just blew it.

The bill is going to greatly harm the economy by extending the recession. We don't ever, ever need the pet projects funded in this bill (a brown mouse in SF) to receive a dime.

Great job Obama. You ****ed us all.

Actually reverend is not naive in this instance at all. He had said before the election was even over that Obama's promises of Change was nothing but talk and rhetoric.

What he's addressing this to is the throngs of Obama supporters who truly believed, and would repeatedly bring up the fact, that Obama was going to be a CHANGE from politics as usual. A Change from things you described, such as making empty promises. A Change from a President lieing. A Change from saying one thing and doing another, or from manipulating the laws and rules to your advantage. A Change from lack of transparency.

He's asking these people, with yet another example of Obama promising something and then not doing it, are they willing to admit that its seemingly like THEY were naive to think that Obama truly was a "Change" in anything greater than R to D
