President Obama is planning a Stevie Wonder concert, in which he plans to award him with a Library of Congress award.
While I would not normally be against something like this, I am at this time, and here is why:
1) The economy is not good, and of course, money is being spent to put on this event.
2) This is the same Obama who has ordered the heads of companies to limit their salaries.
3) This is also the same Obama who has railed against the excessive use of bailout funds by companies for entertainment.
Put all 3 of these points together, and I don't see how Obama can put on a lavish concert without giving an appearance of condoning the waste of our taxpayer dollars by AIG and other interests. I mean, come on, folks. Shouldn't Obama be setting an example for the rest of us? He is president, after all. If he sets one standard for some, without holding himself to the same standard, he stands out like a big hypocrite.
As our leader, Obama must set an example for the rest of us, and practice what he preaches. Who agrees or disagrees with me on this, and why? I would like to hear some opinions. NOTE: Please do not use this thread as a sounding board to say that "Obama is a poopie head", or other such blather. I would like some real and honest opinions on this issue. Thanx.
