Republicans Shut Out of Stimulus Conference Negotiations

So the Joint Resolution on Iraq, the Patriot Act, the Medicare Drug Reform Act, No Child Left Behind act and the Katrina Relief act were not bi-partisan legislation supported by BOTH sides of the aisle.

I am sorry, but even your rabid hyper partisanship cannot deny those simple FACTS.

The notion that Bush did not work WITH the Democrats on every major piece of legislation requires willful denial, or willful ignorance beyond the pale.

There is quite a bit of difference between reaching across the isle to accomplish something and being involved in something that others are interested in. If you say - who wants to chip in for a big chocolate bar and I raise my hand, that's not bipartisanship because I already want the chocolate and if you aren't going to chip in I'll probably do it myself anyway.

Not according to the dictionary:

bi·par·ti·san (bī-pär'tĭ-zən, -sən) Pronunciation Key
adj. Of, consisting of, or supported by members of two parties, especially two major political parties: a bipartisan resolution.

But what you are really saying is that Bush promoted legislation that both Democrats and Republicans supported, so he didn't have to cajole the Dems into voting for it. Sounds to me like Bush involved both parties in the development of the legislation rather than telling the Dems to take it or leave it like the current mob does.

I have learned that confusing Slippery with the OBVIOUS and the FACTS will only cause him to attempt to drag the thread into the circle of futility.

But that stated, your comments are basically right on the mark.

That really doesn't make much sense. Your definition of bipartisan is just that a republican and a democrat agreed. My definition is that they worked together and compromised in order to come to agreement. There is a difference. If Bush says I want to pass X legislation and dems say us too, it's bipartisan support but that doesn't mean Bush reached out.

Aaaaaand another unsolicited personal attack. :applaud

Good lord, stop already. Haven't you made yourself look silly enough already?

Ive got two words: Buy American:rofl

No, that was in regards to a previous discussion i had with slippery slope. I never blindly buy American, i buy value!

Why don't you value America?

Why don't you value America?

Well, American strippers are much better (although more expensive) than German, French, and Dutch equivalents:mrgreen:

American Industrial machinery is better, IMHO, than German and Italian brands, and much cheaper.
