Police have found a huge stash of radioactive materials, along with instructions on how to build a dirty bomb, in the home of a man in Maine, after his wife had shot him to death.

Islamist, you ask? Nope, just an American who applied to join a Neo-Nazi group. It is a mistake to keep thinking that the next 911 will come from the Middle East. Home grown terrorism is going to be a bigger problem. When tyrants are in power in America, it is natural that nut cases will come out of the woodwork and claim their own "Jihad", in the name of restoring the Republic, and we all know what kind of "restored Republic" these guys want, don't we. We would all be forced to Heil Hitler, and do the goose step, if these wackos were ever successful. They won't get far with their agenda, but they could do a hell of a lot of damage in the process, which is why, IMHO, they are just as dangerous as al-Qaeda.

Why do you label people who fight tyrannts nutcases? Have you every read Thomas Jefferson? Do I support homemade nukes, of course not. Neo-Nazis are not about the American Way either, but if tyrannts are in power revolution may be necessary.

Going to have to disagree here. We have a precedent set by the Islamic groups as far as going the distance and keeping up a campaign. Neo-nazi, "restored republic" groups, or single entities like Timothy McVeigh can do damage by themselves but won't prosecute a campaign. They don't have anywhere near the sort of public support nor access to potential foreign aid/funding.

Dirty bomb? Just one? I'm more afraid of someone who has a series of kinetic penetrators or other various IED's ala Iraq style than a single bomb. Single bomb people are those that want to make a statement. This guy went above and beyond getting the radioactive material for this thing. But explosives in general are easy to make (see youtube). Hypothetically I might have heard about some guy who hypothetically made some homemade Semtex, ANFO, and other explosives..."I cannot recall at this time". But actually using them? The kind of heat that would come down on any questionable "militia" or neo-nazi group would be harsh. They learned that lesson after the Oaklahoma bombing.

Domestic terrorism is going to have to come from an imported cell or a homegrown cell with no immediate connections to the larger groups out there. They'll also have to be willing to die or risk incarceration. Too many local informants within those groups from other agencies following other potential illegal activities for that kind of stuff to not get noticed. The 9/11 guys are a perfect example.

If there is a real revolution someday, its going to come in the form of a LARGE number of well armed people (civilian, ex-military, current military) with a great deal of public support. If military units start defecting, you'll know its the real deal.

Unless they have the support of a broad network of active and unwitting dupes in crucially responsible positions (high and low), neo-Nazis haven't a chance to do more than create an isolated disaster, if that.

Statistically, virtually everyone hates Neo-Nazis. And their few supporters have to hide or gain the safety of grouping together. This makes them vulnerable and limits their effectiveness.

They are nowhere near as dangerous to our government or society as al Qaeda and their kind.

Not anymore -- The Secular Messiah has saved us!

Dirty-bomb is not a nuke. I used to work as an inspector using a gamma radioactive isotope to see through pipes and.... A dirty-bomb would be when you disperse a radioactive material using a bomb so that the people around get some form of radiation sickness when exposed to the disintegrated radioactive powder. In all reality probably wouldn't even be all too effective. You would need to disperse a huge amount of radioactive material to see effects. I wouldn't go near where it went off for a few years though anyways.

I would be more scared of someone not blowing up the radioactive source duct taping it under a park bench.

I am struggling with the premise of your argument; what is it? That we have nothing to fear from Middle Eastern Terrorists? That we have LESS to fear from Middle Eastern Terrorists? That we have MORE to fear from White “Supremists” than we do Middle Eastern Terrorists? That we shouldn't be suspicious of Middle Eastern people at airports acting suspiciously?

Help me out here big Dan.

What tyrants are in power?

What tyrants are in power?

It's new to me but there are a few who believe the "Council on Foreign Relations" are puppeteering our presidency and upper government circle...?

I don't know what to believe yet?

That was what I was thinking as well.

I think he's talking about Obama and/or the U.S. government.

......I think we just entered the twilight zone.

Here are some more people in the twilight zone...

John F. Kennedy..."The high office of the President has been used to foment a plot to destroy the American's freedom and before I leave office, I must inform the citizen of this plight."

J. Edgar Hoover..."We must now face the harsh truth that the objectives of communism are being steadily advanced because many of us do not recognize the means used to advanse them...The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a Conspiracy so monsrous he cannot believe it exists. The American mind simply has not come to a realization of the evil which has been introduced into our midst."

Albert Einstein..."The ruling class has the press under its thumb. This enables it to sway the emotions of the masses."

Just repeating this alarming thought to demonstrate how easy it is for a political zealot to cross the line and justify mass murder. All he has to do is claim he is "fighting tyrants". Throw in a Jefferson quote and it almost sounds patrriotic.

No need for violence. We have a revolution every 4 years, and not a shot is fired. What we need is educated citizens because big brother government can be defeated through knowledge. Having said that, I know it is tough to do, but in these times of an economic crisis and a government out of control, it will be easier to have a peaceful revolution, resulting in a peaceful restoration of power to the citizenry, than it has been in many, many years. Let me also say this - When you advocate violence, especially the kind of violence that results in the deaths of innocent people, you are no better than the tyrants, and no better than al-Qaeda either.

Do you think Obama is a tyrant? If so, I'm curious why so.

IMHO, any big government that attempts to control our lives is tyrannical.

Fine. Let me rephrase. Is he any more tyrannical than every president we've democratically voted in since 1932, and possibly before?

That Kennedy quote is simply made up out of whole cloth and the other two are...well...not particularly enlightening.

For the last time, keep this in the conspiracy theory forum.
