Many US Airways (LCC) passengers who endured a crash landing in the Hudson River 12 days ago say they appreciate the $5,000 that the airline has offered — but some say it's not enough.

Joe Hart, a salesman from Charlotte who suffered a bloody nose and bruises, says he "would like to be made whole for the incident."

It's too soon after the accident to determine what emotional distress he has suffered, he says.

I think that anyone that was on that flight, crying 5k ain't enough for them... should be forced to say... watch unedited video of a few airliner crashes. Ya know the ones that have the bodies all burnt, shreaded and bloodied.

And then slapped, repeatedly with a fish. A dead smelly fish.

class action lawsuit against Canadian geese

cash the check and buy a train ticket

That man should be thankful he is alive and is able to go home and hold his wife and children. What a misguided individual.

Apparently this type of plane and this plane in particular had known engine issues. That's where the lawyers are going with this.

You mean that they knew that if a whole flock of geese got sucked into both engines that it would crash?! And they didn't tell us this!!!

GIVE ME MONEY!!!

The guy suffered a broken nose, and some bruises... and wants to be made whole again?

WHO THE **** LET HIM OUT OF HIS BUBBLE!?!

No, I believe there is a separate issue with the engines, but no details were given on the radio this morning. This plane had engine problems prior to this flight it seems.

Sorry, I forgot to use joke tags.:(

It is pretty sad that EVERYONE survived due to the genius gliding skilled pilot and they're still getting a payout and that's not enough for some. Incredible. I'd be sending the pilot Christmas cards for the rest of my life.

Occupant protection technology has also improved over older jets.

I agree. But he lives in a capitalist society, and wants to cash in. I hope he doesn't succeed.

Amen to that.

I'm sure they fail to think about that it is U.S. Airways that employed the pilot with the skills, calm, and clarity of mind to actually saftely land this thing in what some observes said was a miraculously smooth landing (Given the circumstances). So to "Punish" them for this you're going to exact hugely undo damage upon them to the point where they start questioning paying the money to hire good employees?

From what I've also heard on the radio, this type of plane is one of the few that has a button on it that, when pushed, will instantly seal the plane and make it air type in case of water landings, thus keeping it from sinking near as quick.

Unless it can be shown somehow that the engine issue in and of itself cause the issue, or that the geese wouldn't have took out BOTH engines if not for this problem, this should be a non-issue.

Well, in truth, if he suffered a broken nose in a car accident he would get a payout of more than $5000.

I don't think that kind of payout is appropriate in a car accident either, though.

I think those sneaky Canadians trained those geese for that mission. But we'll have NORAD keep an eye out from now on. ;)

Even perfectly working engines would have failed after sucking geese into them. I HATE lawyers like this sleaze bag.

Thanks, I'm aware of that.

Yes but generally in a car accident, unless you are drunk and hit a telephone pole, someone is at fault.

If you hit a deer, at night, driving who would pay you money for the damages? Aside your insurance company according to your plan??

If you are a passenger in the car and are injured in a no-fault accident, the driver or owner of the car is still responsible for your damages.

So you are saying AA is responsible for the crash?

The passengers should all put out a book full of shocking revelations.

No, I am saying AA is responsible for the injuries of the passengers that were injured.

It would be the same thing if it were a no fault accident where one of the passengers was injured in a taxi cab. The liability is greater because they were paying for safe delivery to their destination.
