Iranian leader demands US apology

(The US broke off diplomatic ties with Iran in 1979, after students stormed the US embassy in Tehran after the Islamist revolution overthrew the US-backed Shah.)

If anyone deserves an apology it would be the USA for not only the incident above but also the illegal holding of Embassy staff after this incident.
Iran or at least it's present leaders need to realize that behavior such as this is totally unacceptable, not just for the USA but for any other nation that is unfortunate enough to have an Embassy within Iran.

What a joke. Is this supposed to be a test for the new administration, because I can in no way see President Obama apologizing for this. The Iranian revolution's lack of respect for international law in holding U.S. embassy staff for more than a year is what needs the be apologized for before anything can truly move forward in the development of relations between the two countries. What next - demand an apology from Russia for those 19th century treaties by which Russia annexed significant Persian territory? Something tells me THAT demand won't be coming any time soon.
 
All that fuss about sitting down and talking with our enemies versus not sitting down with them that went on for months and months and months. :roll:
