On Monday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) issued a subpoena to Karl Rove, requiring him to testify regarding his role in the Bush Administration's politicization of the Department of Justice, including the US Attorney firings and the prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman. The subpoena calls for Rove to appear at deposition on Monday, February 2, 2009.

Rove has previously refused to appear in response to a Judiciary Committee subpoena, claiming that even former presidential advisers cannot be compelled to testify before Congress. That "absolute immunity" position was supported by then-President Bush, but it has been rejected by U.S. District Judge John Bates. President Obama has previously dismissed the claim as "completely misguided."

Maybe Rove will be the first to fall. He certainly deserves nothing but, the best treatment from the other inmates.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear he is also questioned about his and Cheney's conspiracy to out a CIA covert spy.

Hi Hip Horray! :applaud:applaud:applaud

tick...tock...tick...tock...

They serve at the pleasure of the President, non-issue, non-scandal but hey, it excites the frothing masses of people like you that still think Joe Wilson has credibility.

Not familiar with the "pleasuring the President" exception to a validly issued subpoena....must have something to do with that "responsible for nothing....accountable to no one" philosophy of the last decade.

So then what made Monica so horrible that republican's just had to launch an investigation? Inarguably she was serving at the pleasure of the president.

What a waste of time, but hardly surprising to see John Conyers is behind it.

I like that this is how the Marxist/Stalinists define "Change".
"Change has come to Washington..." John Conyers.

Let the libs launch their war against the Bush administration. Trying to take out their political opposition is the only one they have interest in waging and staying true to.

"Change".

It will be both interesting and fun to watch the Stalinists try to criminalize political decisions and decision makers. That is their definition of "hope".

"Hope".

My bet is the Marxist/Stalinists will end up with the egg on their faces.

And the enemies of the world watch this with amusement, cheering the Stalinists on.

That is the "Unite" element. Tie their goals to those of America's enemies.

"Unite".

Marxists and Stalinits are two different ideologies.

I bet that Zimmer thinks that Nietzsche is an existentialist

Sorry you folks failed to see the clear connect, so let me help you grasp the association.

Marxists for their socialist ideas for "managing the economy". I'm waiting for them to issue it under ""The Five Year Plan."

Stalinist for trying to criminalize political decisions by their opponents. And trying to silence free speech; fairness doctrine.

Capiche?

I figured socialist scholars like youz guyz would have had it all figured out in a jiffy.

Not in the eyes of a right winger.. anyone that does not agree with the right = marxist, stalinist, homosexual communist liberal muslim terrorist lover!

I'm not saying it will happen, but for you to so definitely state that it won't is just ridiculous, Hatuey. I'm sure people thought NOTHING would come of Watergate, and look what happened.

It's good to know Congress has the economy, global warming, peace in the middle east, etc. all solved, since it appears they've now moved on to the pointless exercise of politically-motivated witch hunts. It might behoove them to remember that their party won't be in power forever, and paybacks can be hell. Personally, I don't support such nonsense, but it won't be up to me when the backlash occurs.

Good try.

Actions speak for themselves.

If you use Marxist economic ideas, you are a? Marxist.

If you use Stalinist tactics with your political opponents, you are a? Stalinist.

Anyone would be hard pressed to make sense of that PeteEUism, much less find an intellectually honest expression of anything but a narrow minded quasi Nazi fascist toe tapping dunce doh slap regurgitation of lobotomized rationalization. Unless Pete would like to argue otherwise?

Oh please o' mighty God of Incite, Viagra and Extenze all wrapped into one, grant PeteEU the ability to move past the actual definition of pornography and articulate something other than the virtual equivalent of a petrographic cave wall finger painting.:2razz:

Now why doesn't this surprise me? LOL I guess I'd be stinging if my party were suffering set-backs as well.

What do you see as a set back?
I see this as a benefit to the Republicans.
I encourage the likes of Conyers to immerse themselves in this endeavor.
Go for it.
Just do it.

I think it's a moronic Stalinist move that will backfire.

So do you always go around accusing people of crimes you have no proof of? To me that's the real crime.

How'd those recent charges against Cheney hold up? :rofl

There's plenty of proof against all of them.

The big question is... Will they have the kahunas to do the right thing?

Have a great day! :2wave:

Rove will have the idiot for lunch.
