This just goes to show you that the greedy corporations don't know how to function in a world where economic crisis exists. They are used to spending frivolously and will continue to do so if we keep giving them money. I say let them all sink into the quicksand.
 
I don't understand why these kind of things suprise people. Have any of you worked at companies like this? Upper management and business owners would rather sack x amount of people than take a pay cut or change the way they do things.

This is pretty much always how it has been.
 
Well good thing the government is now in control of so many private sector companies to stop such silliness!

People who have lost their jobs and homes to money whores ,like these, are no longer wondering about,"Should we stop useing credit cards", they are wondering how those `poor slobs` they used to whine about,(liveing on the street)...how do they stay alive...? "OH NO, how do `we` stay alive". My credit card has become the least of my worries as the job potential go`s steadily towards hell. Doesn`t reality suck ? My whole life,and credit score, depends on the money whores becomeing fair and honest in very short order.Thumbs up ,thumbs down...just like old Rome !

I have since read that they ordered this NEW Jet a while ago, also that at that time they considered themselves to be flush with cash.
Unable to understand why they would order a Jet built in France, by a French Company.
Guess Boeing do not build Jets such as these?

Citi has already answered that this purchase was set way in advance and that canceling would result in huge penalties. This plane is suppose to help reduce their air fleet, and they intend to charter it out.

See? A way around every scandal. :roll:

Please tell us you're not going to defend or make excuses for the flagrant spending that takes place in large corporations while laying off employees. Didn't Citi Group lay off about 10,000 recently? Not buying that jet and using the money for employment, they could have hired 1000 people at $50,000 a year. corporations cannot be trusted to do anything except whatever shoves more money in executive pockets. They don't care about their country, their employees or the quality of their product.

We need new trade and tax policies and an END TO CORPORATOCRACY!!

And does no one else see a problem with the government telling a private business what it does with its money?

This is why the bail out scam is so... dangerous.
