Jan. 1 Attack By CIA Killed Two Leaders Of Al-Qaeda

Everything we've done since all this began has strengthened our enemy, rather than weakening it.
That is because our enemy is merely an ideology, an ideology which hinges- at least in part- on the premise that Americans are arrogant, oppressive, and stupid.
Nothing we've done since those towers fell has indicated otherwise.
Everything we've done is exactly what "terrorists"- islamic extremists- want us to do.
Everything we do, have done, or can do, as a military presence in the middle east, strengthens their position and brings them more support.
Clearly, it is time to regroup.

Agreed.
We have radicalized and caused a generation of hate towards the west.
The best we can do now is try to mend those bridges.

Know when you can win a battle and when you can't.
This isn't a conventional war but a ideological and PR one and hell, Al Qaeda has won all it wanted to achieve.

 tell me why can't we win?

 because they did not hate us when they flew airplanes into our buildings.....

This is whiny liberal blame America nonsense, perhaps if they attacked your friends and family you would feel different. who knows.

Likewise to you, if American/British soldiers by their invasion caused the death of your family. Would you hate or support them?

Im not going to get into a discussion of 9/11 and whether US did/did not cause it by foreign policy

This is a great post. Thank you, 10. Let's hope that Obama and his team can lead the US on a better tack.

I'd be more pissed at people who claim the same religion as me hiding behind my house launching attacks from my schools, shooting rockets from my churches....

that's who I would blame.

It's not over. People need to figure out that Al Qaeda brings American troops. When they do, they will police their own to ensure we don't come. Al Qaeda will have no refuge.

Yeah right, you'd blame the soldiers and the countries and quite understandably.

ahh yes, lets praise him, praise the savior of America, lets praise him for bringing peace to the world... Lets praise him for ending war....

Lets praise him for promising 30k more troops.... oh wait.....:lol:

that would make you a quitter and demonstrate the failure of "instant gratification".....

I wouldn't have even reacted with violence.
Invading a country and toppling a government wouldn't have even been on my options list

I would? actually I'd probably drag the terrorists who are launching rockets from my shed out into the street and hang them as a warning to all of them that this is what happens when you bring your little jihad to my schools, towns, churches, backyards........

Okay then.

You wouldnt? what would you do with the terrorists using your family as a shield?>

If my family was killed as a result of foreign soldiers invading it. I'd be wanting blood of the soldiers and country, honest truth.

what about them terrorists using you as a shield? how long would you give them quarter?

Seriously, you say killing these savages is bad, what is your solution

How would i have reacted if i was leading UK?
I would not have helped US in Iraq. Sounds heartless but i think Iraq did nothing but increase terrorism.
I would have strengthened the moderates within ME rather than giving the fanatics a reason to hate the west even more.
