But some protesters at this rally in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., took their rhetoric a step further, calling for the extermination of Israel — and of Jews.

Separated by battle lines and a stream of rush-hour traffic outside a federal courthouse last week, at least 200 pro-Palestinian demonstrators faced off against a smaller crowd of Israel supporters.

Most of the chants were run-of-the-mill; men and women waving Palestinian flags called Israel's invasion of Gaza a "crime," while the pro-Israel group carried signs calling the Hamas-run territory a "terror state."

But as the protest continued and crowds grew, one woman in a hijab began to shout curses and slurs that shocked Jewish activists in the city, which has a sizable Jewish population.

"Go back to the oven," she shouted, calling for the counter-protesters to die in the manner that the Nazis used to exterminate Jews during the Holocaust.

"You need a big oven, that's what you need," she yelled.

Remember when McCain and Palin were inciting hatred? Where ARE those condemnations now?

Re: Jews "Go back in the OVENS!"

Lopez, a state coordinator for ANSWER, admitted there is a problem with anti-Semitism within his organization's ranks. But then he went on to call the supporters of Israel across the street "barbaric, racist" Zionist terrorists.

I was once told (and it may have been within these DP pages) that anti-Semitism was "exclusively a phenomenon of the Right."

Re: Jews "Go back in the OVENS!"

"She does not represent the opinions of the vast majority of people who were there," said Emmanuel Lopez, who helped plan the event, one of many sponsored nationwide on Dec. 30 by the ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism ) Coalition.

Who cares? Its just speech by some protesters during an actual war. The Palestinians are classic at playing the victim, and any Jew is doing the same thing by feigning outrage. These people have hated each other for centuries and say much worse when cameras aren't around, you can all be sure of that.

Who cares about what a handful of hateful protesters said?

Well that's a good point.

Here's pick of one of the pro-Israel protestors with a sign saying "Nuke Gaza", which isn't much better.

Funny that one didn't make it on Fox news.

But obviously the protest was encoruaging that behavior or she wouldn't have done it, she was incited to hate!

Yes, this is a person at a demonstration. McCain was a presidential candidate.

You don't see a difference here?:doh

I though McCain showed a lot of class most of the time on the campaign trail.

DISGUSTING! Absolutely, simply, undescribably DISGUSTING!

The ugly anti-Semitism of some of the protestors (calling for Jews to 'go back' to the Nazi ovens, equating Zionism with racism, etc.) was appalling. All good people should condemn it.

Completely agree with the sentiments.

Just out of curiosity, what are your sentiments about the "nuke Gaza" poster?

Retarded, Gaza is too close to Israel, the fallout and blast effects negate even considering using such a weapon there.

Hah hah about the response I'd have expected from you.

I hate to disappoint. Sadly there is some truth in the sentiment that peace will only be achieved when one side wins out militarily by utter victory. One side has the power to accomplish this feat, but chooses not to do it, the other wouldn't hesitate were it to be given that power.

That's why I support Israel, in the end, all other factors being equal.

So your point is that the Palestine supporters wrongfully incited hatred with their oven chants, but the Israel supporters on the other side of the street with their "nuke Gaza" posters are OK because, well, someone's got to be incinerated?
