Joe the Plumber to become war correspondent

Socialist comment? Yeah, considering that we live in a social democracy and considering that for the last eight years we had a nice taste of facism...
Not surprisingly, you obviously don't know what fascism is...

...I'm happy to hear a little socialism.
Again, not a surprise, given that socialism is the antithesis of liberty.

What's Obama's I.Q.? What has he said that comes across as brilliant specifically? What brilliant legislation, business model, executive decision has he made? In essence what makes him so brilliant other than you say so. I want something concrete, otherwise you are simply towing the "Obama is brilliant" line, so far I personally have seen nothing to qualify him as brilliant. Oh, and FYI, elitist means having a sense of superiority over people, don't try to change the meaning of it.
Surely higher than yours since you can't seem to figure out what it is that makes people think Obama is brilliant. I think you've got to be pretty brilliant to be the first black editor of the Harvard Law review, as a just one example. See unlike those on the "right" who only give credence to the academic achievements of other righties, I happen to place a high value on academic pursuits.

Aside from the issue people have with Joe, does anyone else think its a good idea to get a better feel for the real people in the conflict?

I feel like the face of both peoples (Palestinians/Israelis) are dominated by politicians. Though I'm more than a little leery what Pajama TV will produce.
I don't think that just because someone is and average joe, I can gain a useful perspective from his "reporting", a different perspective yes but a useful perspective? Not likely.

Or the first, um, er, affirmative action, er, editor.

Care to read the entire story of Samuel Joseph Wurzlebacher? Or do you want me to completely humiliate you? BTW, plenty of Certified Public Accountants don't completely understand the tax policy because it is overly complicated, I doubt you YOURSELF understand the tax code well enough to judge anyone else's knowledge of it.
No please, humiliate me with the details I have so wrong.

aside from making no sense, this response puts me in mind of the emperor's new clothes.

not necessarily. you just have to be black. or...whatever obama is.

So you are saying that people who won't give up their religious rights and right to own firearms are all bitter? Obama basically was, that is an opinion which means it can't inherently be true or false.
Talk about strawman... I think your post is soon to listed as the new definition.

The truth is that during times of duress ignorant people do indeed cling to their bibles and their guns. Obama never mentioned taking away peoples religion or guns...

Do you like salt with your racism? Now you and your pal will have to prove that he didn't get the position based on merit but rather on affirmative action. Otherwise you're just a plain old generic racist. :2wave:

And some will respond to a post with a comment that has no bearing on the conversation.

What exactly does affirmative action have to do with Joe the Plumber War Correspondent?

I like my racism like I like my men. make the most of that.

I'm not saying obama got the position because he was black. I'm saying that to be the first black editor, you don't necessarily have to be brilliant. you just have to be black. being "the first black editor" doesn't mean he's a genius--or perhaps I should say, any more of a genius than the white editors before him. if you are saying that all editors of harvard law whatever are complete geniuses, then that is another matter. why did you have to bring up race? perhaps I am not the racist one here.

That was in reference to a tangent to the conversation, about The Chosen One; The Obama; The Messiah; the Brilliant Harvard Law Review Editor.

Some people will say anything. He hasn't even taken office and you already are chomping at the bit.

You have no idea of the prestige and traditions of Harvard. Excellence is honored. They didn't just grab one of the janitors and put him in a suit. The man managed to be elected President.

Who would you rather have seen as the Editor?

 I intend to abide by the same rules of conduct established by the Democrat Party after the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections.

I gave Bush time until he thought it was a joke that there were no WMDs. In fact, lots of people did. Dems supported him until his promises never came to fruition. I know, things change in war. Well then, don't make promises (or threats) that you can't keep. It kills credibility if you don't keep them.

I understand that harvard is very impressive and everything. to say "obama is brilliant, he was an editor of the harvard law review" is one thing. to say "obama is brilliant, he was the first black editor of the harvard law review" is another thing. to me the mention of race in this instance is unnecessary, though slippery slope dude would use it to accuse conservatives of latent racism.

if managing to be elected president is evidence of brilliance then I don't want to hear anyone calling george bush a dummy ever again.
