Contraceptive pill is polluting environment: Vatican newspaper

The contraceptive pill is polluting the environment and is in part responsible for male infertility, a report in the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano said Saturday.

Reminds me of the complaints about Teflon. I wonder if there is any truth to the matter or whether its just a means to an end for pushing forward the Vatican's morals.

They may have a point. You figure with the amount of females that use the pill it could constitute some kind of risk for males.

In the end I think they need a heck of a lot more scientific research and legitimate ideas put forward other than just the word of the Vatican.

I've heard that this is actually quite true. Not 100% necessarily an increase in male infertility, but the ethinylestradiol that's being released into the environment is seriously ****ing up fish populations and is likely having some effect on humans. The Vatican might be bringing it up for its own reasons, but it's a legitimate concern.
