I have to wonder how a person who's dyslexic can make 13 movies and learn/recite his lines perfectly but not a single director makes an issue of this. Wouldn't somebody have noticed it? Or is Tom Cruise dumb enough to think that anybody buys that a science fiction based religion actually did help him overcome dyslexia?
He told "XL Semanal," the weekly magazine supplement of daily Spanish newspaper ABC, that at the age of seven he was diagnosed as having the language-based learning disability that can include problems in reading, spelling, writing and pronouncing words.
"I asked myself if I was normal or an idiot. I would try to concentrate but I felt anxiety, frustration, boredom. When I graduated from high school in 1980 I was functionally illiterate," he said.
He became involved with the religion in 1990 through his first wife Mimi Rogers.
Following Cruise's hour-long meeting with Mr Coats the star signed autographs and chatted to embassy staff, who remarked on how friendly and patient he was.
