Tom Cruise says Scientology helped him overcome dyslexia - Yahoo! News

He told "XL Semanal," the weekly magazine supplement of daily Spanish newspaper ABC, that at the age of seven he was diagnosed as having the language-based learning disability that can include problems in reading, spelling, writing and pronouncing words.

"I asked myself if I was normal or an idiot. I would try to concentrate but I felt anxiety, frustration, boredom. When I graduated from high school in 1980 I was functionally illiterate," he said.

He became involved with the religion in 1990 through his first wife Mimi Rogers.

Following Cruise's hour-long meeting with Mr Coats the star signed autographs and chatted to embassy staff, who remarked on how friendly and patient he was.

I have to wonder how a person who's dyslexic can make 13 movies and learn/recite his lines perfectly but not a single director makes an issue of this. Wouldn't somebody have noticed it? Or is Tom Cruise dumb enough to think that anybody buys that a science fiction based religion actually did help him overcome dyslexia?

This is not breaking news. He's been saying this for years.

He could have just joined DAM.

Well you see since the rise and fall of Xenu( I think LRH himself killed the evil Xenu in a dark ally when he(Lafeyet, not Xenu) was the greatest sea captain on earth.Ron taught the world what he had discovered,in this battle with evil, and that was that evil spirits don`t have achance if you join scientology and learn to heal thy self.It really is a very simple process.Just give the church all of your money(if you`re Tom Cruise you`ll get a bunch more next week) then you will be cured of...well anything and everything.Money and BS make all things possible. This is breaking news in that those who are not aware of the evil cult will be enlightened about it for the first time. Scientology is cult fiction don`t go trying to get healed.
