The IG just recently issued a report indicating that FISA warrants, in general, are basically sound.
The IG issued a report earlier this year saying that the warrant alleging that Mr. Trump had conspired with Russia was NOT sound.
Y
You guys don't get it.
The outrage is that Mr. Trump was alleged to be involved in a conspiracy with Russia-- essentially that he was acting as a Russian agent.
And we now know this was false ("fake news" as it were), but that there was NO reason to think he ever was.
That is what Flynn and Page are all about.
Analogy only works if we learn there was never a reason to think the guy was a sex trafficker, that the government just went full steam ahead.
The idea that Trump was conspiring with the Russians is true, and well documented.
“that there was no reason to think he ever was”.
No reason other than the 100 or so documented contact between Trump campaign officials and Russian agents or operatives.
No reason to wonder why the guy the Russians hired to managed Putin’s pet Victor Yanokovich’s presidential campaign in Ukraine turned up as Trump’s campaign manager (and offered to brief the Russians on the inner planning and polling of the campaign).
No reason to wonder why Trump would name a guy who the Russians tried to recruit as a “senior foreign policy advisor”.
No reason to wonder why Trump would actually invite Russian agents to a meeting in his campaign headquarters in the middle of the campaign (and lie about it)
And, of course, there would have been no reason for Trump to take such extraordinary and mostly illegal steps to try to unsuccessfully conceal all those operations, and more.
No reason to think that Trump might be susceptible to influence when all the mortgages on his properties are held by Russian affiliated banks and money launderers.
No reason to think Trump might have been vulnerable because of his decades long dealings with Russian money launderers.
