The mother of Levi Johnston, the Wasilla teenager who is the father of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter's unborn child [sic], was arrested Thursday on drug charges.

The Anchorage Daily News reported Friday that Sherry L. Johnston, 42, was arrested by Alaska State Troopers at her Wasilla home and charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.

The arrest was the result of an "undercover narcotics investigation," according to police.

Few details were available. Johnston was released on $5,000 bond, according to the paper.

Johnston's son, Levi, drew headlines soon after John McCain named Palin to be his running mate at the end of August. The campaign announced in a press release that Palin's 17-year-old daughter Bristol was pregnant, and that Johnston, 18, was the father. The story became the soap-opera subplot to the Republican National Convention the next week.

Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin have said they intend to marry in the summer. Their baby is due Saturday, according to the Anchorage Daily News.

Dust off the excuses employed on Obama's behalf when we were talking about his slimy associations.

Because it is a friend of the family call this the equivalent of Obama's relationship with Communist Frank Marshall.

Now let's talk about Obama and Blogo.

;)

So the mother of the father of the baby of the daughter of the woman who unsuccessfully ran for Vice President got arrested on drug charges? I can't say I share your definition of "Breaking News"

My only question is, if these two fugrats are teenagers, how come they look middle-aged?
That Levi character looks like he's been whupped through hell backward with a buzzard gut.
If that's what being rich and privileged in Alaska does to a person, I'm happy to be poor in a place where it's always warm.

Who cares about Palin's soon to be son in laws mother, busted for pot?

Of course looking good is paramount.

Six felony drug counts. A lengthy undercover state police investigation.
It isn't pot.
And it is very serious.

For her, sure. Is there even one reason why anybody else should care even a little bit?

"... Sherry L. Johnston, 42, the mother of Levi Johnston, faces six felony counts of "misconduct involving a controlled substance." The arrest came after Alaska State Troopers searched her home.
Law enforcement officials released little information to the paper, saying the investigation was continuing. The charges against Johnston include second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, which the Daily News says generally applies to "manufacturing or delivering drugs."

I'll bet she was running a meth lab out of her house.
Kind of looks like a meth fiend.

Bristol Palin's baby-grandmother, Sherry Johnston, busted on drug charges

You have no idea how bad the newspapers exaggerate? Lets not even talk about the news from Katrina in NOLA.

The police raided a house I was in. Had nothing to do with us, but someone who rented a room in the house. The newspaper said the police found "a large amount of drugs and weapons." What they actually found was about a pound of hand picked Indiana ditch weed and a broken 9mm pistol, that was it.

Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see. ;)

I would classify a pound of pot as a large amount of drugs

It was "Indiana ditch weed" all it would have done is given you a headache.

Forgot to add: 1 pound of it had a street value of $0.00.

Because she represents everything good about America which had been lost or is threatened with social extinction and she is the presumed GOP front runner in 2012 and she scares the crap out of some people who fear that if she wins the country will take a turn for the Right.

So, anything that might be used as ammo against her represents news. Big and important news.

To some people.

Pretty much.

I lived in a neighbor state and spent a year helping Katrina evacuees and their children.
It wasn't an exaggeration. It wasn't a Big Liberal Media conspiracy.
It happened.

You can't be that ignorant? I am talking about the story's that came out of the dome. They were all lies, plain and simple.

Nice job trying to dodge the meat of my post.

Do you know what the word 'amount' means?

Don't be an ass.

Indiana ditch weed grows along the side of the road in Indiana, anyone can pick as much as they want. It has no street value even if it was a ton.

If something has no street value, it is pretty much a waste in my book. For the article to exaggerate like it was some kind of serious drug ring is the height of stupidity.

That isn't how the law works. Indiana ditch weed is identical to White Rhino in the eyes of the law, and the stems, roots, and dirt the weed grows in is all included in the quantity when you're busted. The paper claimed that a large amount of drugs was found, and a pound of pot is a large amount

I agree, but it was the way they tried to make it look like it was some kind of important victory in the useless "war on drugs" that looked bad to me. It was an exaggeration. If the article had stated that it was some teenagers picking weed from the side of the road or that the gun was an inoperable piece of junk, the story would have had little to no impact or "shock value."

"Sherry Johnston was arrested Thursday after troopers served a search warrant on a Wasilla home.

The 42-year-old Johnston has been charged with six felony drug counts.

Troopers did not identify the drug involved in a brief mention on the agency's website.

However, trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said late Friday in a news release the charges were in connection with the drug OxyContin, a strong prescription painkiller. "

Does Oxycodone grow along the roadsides in Indiana, too?

OxyContin oh no! Not a prescription pain killer that is highly addictive!

I think you are grasping at straws here. If it was Sarah Palin being arrested on drug charges that would be a story. Making a thread about the mother of the father of one her grandchildren seems like a act of desperation. that would be like doing a thread on the parents of guys that Chelse Clinton dated.
