Too bad he didn't have this epiphany before so many people were hurt, businesses lost, taxpayer money squandered and parts of his city decimated.
Maybe he called the Dionne Warwick Psychic Hotline to find out this wasn't going to end well.

No, 70 days of blocking streets isn't protest. Its civil disobedience. I protested once in the 80s. Had our signs, chanted our slogans and stayed on the sidewalk. If you want to parade down the streets, you need to get permits that wont be made available for 70 days in a row. They need to be arrested and charged as soon as they refuse to clear the streets. a handful of prolifers protesting in the middle of a street would be immediately arrested if they refused to clear the streets. Shouting "Black lives matter" shouldn't be treated as a get out of jail free card. Portland has plenty of public open spaces where they can "protest" all they like.

Like the thousands of people protesting everyday in Portland. In a nation of anarchy, the police would be replaced by private forces that wouldn't have tolerated the 2nd day of this 70 day "protest".

Civil disobedience is how the civil rights movement worked. They didnt just ask kindly :p as for arresting? Did any of those militia quacks that stormed a government building with firearms ever get arrested?

Id say their peaceful and legal protest was responsible. And in the 60s they were arrested. Generally those who used peaceful civil disobedience also peaceably went to jail. AND while demanding equal rights is a legitimate demand, defund the police or we'll burn down the Federal Court House, or the local police precinct is not.

Everyone knows it’s the federal officers in Portland to blame or maybe it’s Trump.

This came across a little harsh, but I want to clarify that I'm not encouraging that particular poster to go out and commit unlawful acts. I am instead asking why he/she isn't doing so, in light of their "tough talk" and actual defense of attempted murder. As I read it again, it occurred to me that the post could be taken in a manner I didn't intend; just wanted to make sure my intention was clear.
