Unemployment rate falls to 10.2% in July as US adds 1.8M jobs | Fox Business

The U.S. unemployment rate edged down to 10.2 percent in July even as a wave of new coronavirus cases forced most states to pause or reverse their reopenings, slowing hiring.
The Labor Department said in its Friday report that employers added 1.8 million jobs in June — a far slower pace than the 4.8 million created in June, which was the highest recorded. Economists surveyed by Refinitiv expected the report to show that unemployment dropped to 10.5% and the economy added 1.6 million jobs.

Yes by all means, keep the economy shutdown and blame Trump for high unemployment

Like most Americans - I'll blame Trump for it, since he completely botched the Covid-19 response. Which is why we're still in this mess.

“And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done."
— Donald Trump

Even by your standards that is hugely argumentative, we blame Trump for not taking the coronavirus threat seriously for too long which ultimately took the economy down because of that ignorance. Too many on the right resolved themselves to making this a hoax or constitutional issue placing the US in the #1 spots for all the wrong categories of coronavirus impacts.

If the economy shuts down again (unlikely in my opinion for what it is worth) all of it will land squarely on the shoulders of Trump as being responsible.

Double digit unemployment the month before the first ballots go out? Not great for the incumbent.

Obama's economy was much better. Mismanaging a pandemic has consequences.

Right, what did you expect the GDP and unemployment to be with a shutdown economy? 1.8 million jobs bringing us back to 144 million employed, 8 million less than what Trump inherited in 2016 without a pandemic

LOL, yep, Obama's economy was stunning!! I thank him every day for giving us Trump

And of course as precedent has shown us, he will absolve himself of all responsibility.

You should thank him for rescuing your floundering economy from the deepest recession since the '30s-for which naturally you'll post some spurious chart in an attempt at denying what every financial expert knows. If a conservative had achieved what Obama had you would be cheering, and you damn well know it.

Basement Joe will swoop in and save the day, Universal Healthcare for ALL!!! WOOOPEEEE A liberal's dream, the nanny state on steroids and bail out of inefficient state governments

I LOVE my house.

It is located with convenient access to all parts of the Indianapolis metro area and the surrounding suburbs. Maybe a mile to 465. About a half mile to the nearest major parkway type road in town.

However, this also lets the road noice of the various nearby arterials sneak into my yard in the morning when I'm drinking coffee on the patio.

A couple months ago, the road noise was barely noticeable. This morning, it was back to the levels of last Fall.

Bad news for morning coffee. Good news for the economy.

LOL, funny how the data and facts don't support that claim, don't expect a lot of you foreigners like you including facts. I haven't seen any charts that support your claims only media reports that lack context, Amazing isn't it how great Obama economy was and how he still lost the House in 10-12-14-16 and the Senate in 14, Democrats the Senate and WH in 16, and the Senate in 18! Guess actual results don't really matter to you as it is all about feelings and emotion for you

Trump did not cause coronavirus. Trump didn't force New York City to implode and drag the rest of the country into the COVID gutter, either. If you really need to blame a politician -- a fool's exercise, but you do you -- blame Cuomo and DeBlasio. Those are your real villains.

Well, considering America currently languishes in an impressive 37th place for overall quality of healthcare among the entire world's systems, I suggest that you consider that every one of the top twenty offers UHC in addition to private healthcare. France is currently in top spot. The US can't even make the top thirty. Even tiny, impoverished Cost Rica beats you! How embarrassing.

Obama inherited a wrecked economy and left the orange dumbass a good economy. The orange dumbass mismanaged a pandemic, so the next president will most likely inherit a wrecked Republican economy. It's as predictable as Eddie Haskell kissing Mrs. Cleaver's ass.

Spent 17 years in Carmel, love the area, great place to raise a family and great Midwestern values. Same here in TX, the area I live in has returned to normal in spite of being in what the left calls the epicenter of the pandemic. Interesting how personal responsibility doesn't exist in the nanny state supporting liberals, none can seem to look in the mirror for the real problem in their world

Your post is filled with innaccuracies.

The COVERAGE of the virus by the media is what the president was referring to as a hoax. He's not the most specific person on the planet in his speech patterns.

The COVERAGE by the media is intended to mislead the weak minded. In a great many cases, they are finding success.

LOL, apparently, amazing how it came out of recession before he was able to spend a dime, all a gift to that incredible mind of his and community agitator experience. A wrecked economy seems to resonate with you and is a term you use often, all to provoke posts, have to admit you do a great job of that, none of your posts however seem to any data to support them and it is data that wins debates and court cases, not your feelings or personal opinions

So, who is being misled, and by what? Conservatives being told by idiots on the radio and tv that the virus is just "the sniffles", and believing it? Those weak-minded people? There are more than a few of them on this forum.

And we'll thank Trump for giving us Biden as president. Chew on that Conservative. :lamo

Cue Conservative's typical cut and paste response like the moronic comments he normally makes.

Yes, we see the very poor healthcare in this country with our 3.3% death to infection rate vs your 15%, now if we could only be like your country and its healthcare!!

I forgot to add that Bush also inherited an ok economy before he wrecked it. Republicans are great at that. I mean, you have to be good at something, right?
