Leave it up to Businessinsider to try to smear Hannity too. They intentionally chose their web name to hide the fact that they are a bunch of liberals.

That being said, there is absolutely NO WAY that Hannity designs his own book cover. That is left to others who have experience in design, layout and know what visuals would attract people to buy a book. Nor would Hannity even be involved in the Latin which I'm sure he is no expert in. At best, he would have some input in the design generally and be shown the final draft but there is no way he would have designed it or written the headline in Latin. No matter who it is, the book writer would have to trust that whoever wrote the Latin phrase knew what the hell he was doing.

Latin words, like English, often have multiple meanings. It is common to use the word perish to mean die in English. It is the same with Latin. You must know this.

It is more common to use the word actually intended instead of finding an alternative meaning.

Since Hannity was telling people he meant to say "live free or America dies," then the correct Latin translation would be "vivamus vel libero Americae moritur."

Why would you substitute the Latin word for "perished," "lost," or "gone," when dies already exists in Latin? If that was the word intended by Hannity, then use it rather than making up your own word and substituting it.

The first translation of the verb pereo in the dictionary is to die. I gave the reference. You can see I did not invent the meaning. But you can have it your own way, Glitch. What do I know?

It's his book, and if he's too stupid to oversee the cover for it, and sign off, I do not buy that as an excuse. If it works for you, Sean: It's not MY fault the cover on MY book was illiterate!! - fantastic. Go buy it. You just might be his target audience!

I imagine that if he wrote a book about how Christianity influenced his life and someone designed a cover for him, he should know Greek and how to multiply using Roman Numerals if the designer put those on the cover and assured him he was correct?

No surprise that the publisher (Threshold Editions) is the branch of Simon&Shuster doing its rightwing crap it doesn't want its name on. **** ups like this would be routine for people who make not knowing what they're talking about the path to get hired and rapid promotion.
