The main initial source for the DA's case is most likely Michael Cohen, Trump's personal attorney.

That was a federal investigation for a federal crime, and Barr dropped the case against Trump -- remember Trump was an unindicted co-conspirator -- because Barr is just as crooked and corrupt as Trump.

Grand juries change the scope of an inquiry all the time... there is nothing novel or new here other than the amusing defense of Trump supporters...

Well, if you want to have an honest debate about this you're going to have to know that Vance is not a federal prosecutor was was not responsible for prosecuting the campaign finance crimes against Cohen.

*sigh* grand jury's are about submitting evidence to see if there is enough of it for a trial.
they do not get to change the scope of what the prosecutor is doing.

that is for the prosecutor to describe in their charges.
Please know what you are talking about first that is even more amusing.

Trump has filed his taxes in the state of NY for years and years and years.
yet it was never an issue for those years and years and years.

I am sure there was some audits done as well in NY as NY is notorious for bilking every penny they can.
SO you are telling me that the state of NY revenue department is so inept that over the 20 some years
trump has paid taxes there they have never caught him or anything else.

I can't speak for the 'Trump Cultists',but are you referring to 'pro Trump Cultists' or 'anti-Trump Cultists'. The latter are certainly more visible and vocal.

The main issue was the payment to Stormy Daniels (and some other person). The expansion of this is clearly political. There's no actual complaint - no one saying they were defrauded. It's a fishing expedition.

Amusing.. Grand juries are investigative bodies by law and can and do change scope all the time. You have NO idea why the grand jury was impaneled in this case.

This would explain why Trump is nothing but a lying dog when it comes to his tax returns, and makes up BS excuses to not release anything. He knows he has something to hide.
