I bet that the perpetrators will be left wing types, liberals, democrats.

You bet that they are anyone else.

winner gets a silver donation from the other. ;)

While you guys are looking at the flaming wizard and making bets, I'm looking over here behind the curtain at the fat little man turning knobs and pushing levers.

The first thing that come to my mind was the word "insurance."

Call me a skeptic.

I already suggested it, Cap'n A.
But I wonder if they'd be so callous as to set the blaze while parishioners were actually inside the building. They could've as easily waited until the building was empty.

I wonder if perhaps one of the children might not have accidentally set the fire, playing around while mom was busy "working on crafts" or whatever they were doing in there.

Perhaps. But that's so boring. It HAS to be one of those nut-crazed, tree-huggin', homo-lovin', ACLU supportin', leftwing, radical hippies. Has to be. ;)

I believe in facts not made up ****. You made a serious claim that the church was firebombed and as far as we know that is inaccurate and a gross distortion of the truth. You're the one who made the claim. I'm the one calling you on it and asking that you prove it or retract it. Simple, really.
Maybe you could spend 20 more pages on the word firebombed....I'll bet you can. Carry on.

1. It was obviously some Palin hater. Period.

2. Good thing no one wqas hurt, or killed.

3. Hope the bastage gets caught.

4. GREAT THING no one was hurt.

Item number one negates everything else you just said.
Before I'd lay money on "a Palin hater", I'd guess it was:

1. A faulty circuit, a mechanical problem with the heater, etc.

2. A child fooling around bored while his mother worked and visited with her friends.

3. A disgruntled former church member, and/ or a disgruntled family member (ex-husband, perhaps) of one of the women inside the building at the time.

4. A mentally ill church member, setting the fire for unknown reasons related to his or her mental illness.

5. A member of the church administration/ staff, deliberately setting a fire to collect insurance.

6. Local teens up to malicious mischief.

7. A homeless person who snuck in to get warm and dropped a lit cigarette by accident, or a homeless person huddled outside the building, who attempted to start a fire to get warm and accidentally set the structure ablaze.

8. A mentally ill and/ or pyromaniacal non-church member, who targeted
the structure at random.

I can probably think of a dozen other possibilities more likely than "a Palin hater".

If somebody hated Palin badly enough to go to prison for attempted murder or possibly actual murder by burning down her church with parishioners inside, they'd probably just burn down her house, instead. Or blow up her car. or attack her personally. Or her husband. or her children.

If it was anyone connected to palin in any way, it was probably that psychotic ex-brother-in-law of hers, or else one of the former state officials she's accused of unfairly dismissing from their positions.
But if they hated her enough to break the law in the interests of hurting her, they probably would've actually attempted to hurt her. Her. Not her church, with a bunch of strangers inside.

ANCHORAGE, Dec. 13 -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's home church was badly damaged by arson, leading the governor to apologize Saturday if the fire was connected to "undeserved negative attention" from her campaign as the Republican vice presidential nominee.
Damage to the Wasilla Bible Church was estimated at $1 million, authorities said. No one was injured in the fire, which was set Friday night while a handful of people, including two children, were inside, according to James Steele, the Central Mat-Su fire chief.
He said the blaze was being investigated as an arson. Steele said he didn't know of any recent threats to the church, and authorities did not know whether Palin's connection to the church was relevant to the fire.
"It's hard to say at this point. Everything is just speculation," he said.
Pastor Larry Kroon declined to say whether the church had received any recent threats.
Palin was not at the church at the time of the fire. She stopped by Saturday, and her spokesman Bill McAllister said in a statement that the governor told an assistant pastor she was sorry if the fire was connected to the "undeserved negative attention" the church has received since she became the vice presidential candidate Aug. 29.
"Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good," McAllister said.
The 1,000-member evangelical church was the subject of intense scrutiny after Palin was named Sen. John McCain's running mate. Early in Palin's campaign, the church was criticized for promoting in a Sunday bulletin a Love Won Out conference in Anchorage sponsored by Focus on the Family. The conference promised to "help men and women dissatisfied with living homosexually understand that same-sex attractions can be overcome."
The fire was set at the entrance of the church and moved inward as a small group of women worked on crafts, Steele said. The group was alerted to the blaze by a fire alarm.

Who the **** is Sarah Palin?

awesome discussion bro, no really.

what is uncanny here is the level of obtuseness you bring to a thread. :2wave:

What's uncanny to me is that you're about to make the Mile-High Club, ie 2000 thanks.

yeah odd how some people agree with me, then others agree with you.

And if we looked at thanks as feet, wouldn't it be 5,280 thanks to be in a mile high club?

Do you have even one single shred of proof to back up your claim? None of us have any idea who did this or for that matter if it even was arson. If it was arson then I hope they catch the bastard and lock her away for a damn long time...if it turns out it was an accident then what will you say about it being "obvious, period"?

Did they find an "S" carved in the wall somewhere? :rofl

I'll bet it was Palin herself, the frackin' loser.

How do we know it wasn't God?

Why hate an inept politician that could not even get elected in the current climate?

Thank goodness, I have more to say but now I have launch rockets with my step son.

If Obama's former church gets so much as graffiti on it I'm going to come to DP and rant about it being right wing savages without any proof what so ever.

We wouldn't be surprised.
