Illinois AG asks high court to declare gov. unfit

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Illinois attorney general has filed a motion with the state's highest court asking justices to remove scandal-plagued Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office.

Lisa Madigan took the action Friday as pressure on the governor intensified to step down. The motion challenges his fitness to serve and asks that the Supreme Court oust him.

Well, I don't think Obama is THAT corrupt, but I had fun, making that up.

I HOPE he was not THAT involved with all the crapola that is coming down in HIS area with Blagojevich and Tony Rezco but it certainly does look BAD.

just saw on the news that some local religious leaders stopped by the govs house to offer their support, whatever that means....:shock:
They should be there to call the s.o.b. to repentance..

I wonder if the Illinois state constitution allows this? Usually there is a lengthy impeachment process unless the elected official has been convicted of a crime, not just accused.

The guy's a slimebag, and I personally hope he gets big jail time. Just curious about the legality of what they're talking about, that's all.

Obviously legality isn't even a consideration in this state. :mrgreen:

Whatever the crime, however obvious the verdict.Under the Law as practised in the USA, a person is innocent until arraigned before a Court of Law, tried before a Jury and subsequently found to be Guilty.
Thus it should be patently obvious that as before any trial he is considered to be innocent, no Legal action can be taken to remove him from office by way of a court order.
Thus legally speaking he can only be removed from office by Impeachment or by voluntary resignation.

Having said that, of course in my opinion he is as guilty as hell.

But what do you (the great American public) imagine?

It's all about getting Obama's legislative agenda through Congress, that's where the game will be played imo. A congressman's vote...re-election coffers filled, expensive pork barrel projects approved, etc, etc, etc.

Presuming or assuming any degree of innocence on Obama is a cover-up in itself. Illinois politics are corrupt for one reason only; the politicians employed there ie., Obama (is one of them). Since America has adopted this Saran Wrap soul as the new Mesiah forget not that Jesus himself was a sinner. The difference is he admitted it. When you are in the mob you are a mobster.When you are in the military you are a soldier and so on and so on.
The dark tradition of corruption and certainly the most blatant corruption that no one has dared to challenge in the pathetic, long history of Illinois is all the testimony necessry to know there is dirt in Obama's pockets. Why? Because in Illinois politics you either play along or swim in the Chicago river.
Since 1978 sevety-nine politicans have been convicted of dirty deeds including 3 governors, 27 alderman, 15 state legislators, 2 congressmen, 19 judges and these are only the ones that got caught. In a corrupt state you don't GET caught all the time. Rather some are put out to pasture to take the fall. So carry on America turning your blind eye after all the truth doesin fact, hurt.
