Trump’s America.

Good to see that you still support such violence then.

Actually this is the America you asked for when you voted for trump.

Are you not entertained?

Hmm... even CNN is finally (being forced to?) admitting that "protestors" are attacking police. Dropping the big lie that police (or storm troopers) are attacking "peaceful protestors".

Hard to say. Seems to be a change in tone in the reporting, I do agree.

I doubt things will calm down.

Liberals in charge out there have taken the police and restricted them to the point of allowing the riots to get further out of hand, more officers will get hurt, and see more businesses harmed.

The police...secret along with not secret...are why there is civil unrest. They are the catalyst for it all. Throwing more law enforcement at protests is like throwing more Molotov cocktails at a fire in order to put it out.

It seems to be clear that they are dropping the (highly biased and ridiculous) idea that (racist?) police are the true aggressors and are causing the rioters, looters and arsonists to react.

All the talk from second amendment folks and republicans about revolution were all just more talking points for the right. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk. It takes real americans to stand up to the abuses of this administration to get people out into the streets revolting. As long as the 'police' act with violence you can expect the same reaction from the protesters.

We don't support violence. Let's look at this another way. Almost one hundred fifty thousand dead in this country from covid and what do republicans say to that, no big thing, let's reopen the schools too. Forty five arrested in a group of hundreds and the right tries to paint everyone as looters, burners, and rioters.

Nice to see you are more worried about the unidentified goons of trump than school kids or the amount of people dying from covid.

Lets clear up one thing from the start, these aren't protests ..glad to hear 45 were arrested. I hope they throw the book at these criminals, they deserve some time in jail.

The correct term for whats going on in Seattle is riot ..a form of civil disorder commonly characterized by a group lashing out in a violent public disturbance against authority and property.

What we have in Seattle is a failure of political leadership, all the while enabling criminal behavior.

It is exposing what happens when liberals take over government. Think Biden would stop it by defunding police and giving money to black people?

Seattle seems to have elected the government it deserves. If they don't care about their city, why should the rioters?

You are witnessing in progress(ive) what WILL happen if Biden wins. Progressives want to ruin America.

The rhetoric is now meaningless... we have people hurt, we have businesses harmed, and less police in the face of these riots equates to more violence.

Autonomous zones, safe zones, whatever you want to call them next all failed. This is no longer about civil rights, no longer about law enforcement treatment of minorities, or even police militarization... this is all excused violence and the very reason I am just as harsh on modern liberalism as anything Republican.

It is licensed intimidation, hatred, and designed conflict courtesy of modern liberalism.

Sure, sure. If the police just ignore them, they'll go away, right?

What planet do you live on, you obviously don't know the difference between rioting and protesting. Rioting is against the law ..its a felony.

That is what has been called the left coast for decades now. This cannot be blamed on Trump like some clowns here are trying to do. This is the inevitable result of leftism.

Police brutality is the reason for the protests in the first place. Where there was de-escalation by the police, there was less rioting and looting. Where police escalated, there was greater chaos. Over the last couple months the protests have been settling down...until Trump sent in mercenaries to provoke them again, and voila, more civil unrest. The police are the problem. They are the cause of the protests, the cause of rioting, and they are stoking and increasing them.

And all of it is being used to justify the mass illegalization of political dissidents in this country, and all to distract from the fact that Trump has done nothing to stop a pandemic killing 150,000 Americans.

Yep, it was all fine until Trump said he favored having law and order - now the left must produce lawlessness and disorder (anarchy?) to blame on Trump.

That is not accurate, things were not "calming down" hence the fiasco known as autonomous zones.

Do we know the whole story of what led up to this? Do we know if the police were provoking a response or if they were allowing the ones who were nonviolently protesting to continue as long as they remained nonviolent?

Usually once a situation like this turns this violent, it's declared an unlawful assembly and everyone is cleared from the area. Peaceful protesters can then reassemble once things have been made safe. So it's unlikely that peaceful participants were allowed to stay as it would have been unsafe for them.
