Washington plans to announce retirement of 'Redskins' franchise name on Monday, per report

Waiting for the New England Patriots to change their name ... it sounds too white.

Nothing racist about the word Patriot. Redskin, on the other hand is extremely offensive. Not sure why this is difficult for you to understand?

How about "Yellow Bellies".

Hail to the Redskins

Thank God FedEx put pressure on Snyder to change the name. Finally some action to stop all these needless killings in big cities. This will help the covid19 pandemic as well. At long last, peace in the valley.

Being a Patriot in the US of A has become politically incorrect. I'm surprised you didn't know that. /s

You do not think the word "redskin" is offensive?

I always assumed they meant it in a badass warrior sense. People don’t name their teams after things they don’t respect do they?

It certainly doesn't sound Republican either. Now it were the New England Spineless Jellyfish, that would fit.

They should pick something more appropriate. Like the Washington "Paper Towels".

I will say that if sports teams are not gonna be able to use mascot names that are derogatory to groups of Americans, are any of us truly free?

You know there's a difference between political correctness and racist, right??? :doh

The team was named in the 20s, I think. An era that still saw lynchings as a family outings.

If that’s the standard, the Washington part should go as well.
