BLM Philadelphia chapter leader says community is safer without police, needs five years to build alternatives

:lamo

The Philadelphia arm of the Black Lives Matter movement has called for the "complete abolition" of the police department in five years as well as the scrapping of military bases abroad.

You Libs have habitually lied and deflected on this forum and in the media about this insanity. Countless times I've heard and seen Libs attempt to argue the semantics of "abolish" and "defund". Now that your hotep "woke" grandma has blurted out the truth of your marxist plan there's no wiggling out of this. No amount of garbage whining, emotional rhetoric, lame sarcasm, or ad hominems will help you, now.

For more than a month, in the aftermath of George Floyd's death, the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement has called for sweeping changes across the country in the bid to end racial injustices. At the heart of the debate is the campaign to defund - or dismantle - police departments.

And according to BLM Philadelphia representative and activist YahNe Ndgo, the chapter has developed a five-year plan to do just that.

"One of the things that we are demanding over five years is the complete abolition. We don't want to see any police in our community," Ndgo told Fox News in an interview Tuesday. "Over the course of those five years, it gives time for the community to begin to build what is needed. We aren't looking to leave any kind of vacancy around the issue of safety."

LOL I like how this trash saved a small talking point at the end about safety, just so she could try not to make herself look like a complete looney anarchist, but the damage is done.

From her purview, one of the main factors leading to crime is poverty and hunger - which in turn drives drug use and drug-related crimes.

LOL more cow dung red herrings. I live in a Dem Lib state and recently I've attempted to give a homeless black man a pastry from Einstein Bagels and you know what he told me? "Oh thanks but I already ate. I just wanted to know if you could lend me a couple dollars."

What bum turns down food? Only one in a privileged white Lib suburbanite fruitcake bubble city where they praise and coddle you for being a bum.

If you're a respectable black man with your life together and a clean record the spoiled white Lib suburbanites (the ones who scream Black Lies Matter for a day or two with other poor blacks in the metro area then return home 40 miles away in their safe, overpriced homes that's patrolled by bored suburban police when they're on a swinger cruise for two weeks) are passive aggressive towards you and even sometimes racist.

FOX.

Moving on.....

Pipe dream modern liberalism nonsense, the answer is demilitarization and reform but in the end we have to have law enforcement.

The Seattle fiasco should have spoken volumes as to what happens when this function is turned over to mob mentality and literally on the spot determination of someone else’s life and property using law as a slide rule, ironically just like that existing law enforcement does with minorities now.

Minneapolis Police Department is getting ready to take a big one in the rear. GA voted to cancel county law enforcement. Not sure it's just a pipe dream anymore. The pipe is real and it's big. LOL

I live right outside Philly and I completely support this. Philly is a s***hole. Let them burn their own neighborhoods to the ground and we can start fresh!

They don't want to stop at their own neighborhood. They'll want yours, too.

Abolishing the police would be the perfect situation for gangs, sometimes I wonder who's actually leading this movement

The BLM chapter in this area BTW is awesome - peaceful, positive, rational,...

That's exactly what the marxists want: Lawlessness. Just imagine Chicago - an extremely hostile combat zone - without its overwhelmed police force. The 100 shootings that occurred a few weeks ago would seem like child's play.

Good point- Abolishing the Police would be perfect for both Communism and gang-related mayhem, and I'm sure the NY mob would be all for it as well

It's all coming together for me ;)

One point about NY I've always found so ironic is they had fake Lib billionaire mayor Bloomberg who enforced the stop and frisk laws that arguably drove down crime in black areas.

I don't think we can expect the complete abolition of police in any major city. Certainly scaling back the armored cars and redirecting funding, but in the end a certain number will always be needed. Retraining is more important.

How about retraining civilians.

What do you mean by “demilitarizion”?

How about retraining civilians.

That's an excellent idea. They could be sent to a sort of 'camp' where they'd be 'reeducated' and kept busy with hard labor. They would of course require uniforms, to foster a sense of camaraderie, but with at least a colored symbol on the breast pocket to denote what kind of 'retraining' each case requires. They may need to be separated according to ethnicity and religion as well in order to encourage 'harmony'.

That's never been tried before.

The either or fallacy is not needed. I just simply suggested since civilians are taking numerous feel good courses, that they can take a police sensitivity course that educates them on how to conduct themselves appropriately when in contact with officers.

It would be easier just to teach the cops not to beat people up for the hell of it.

She sounds dumber than a bag of broken hammers this one.

Yeah, criminals are all going to love having no police around. Won't be a retail store that isn't looted, a woman that isn't raped, or spot in the city that isn't controlled by gangs.
