I saw her trending on Twitter last night. I was surprised to see that she had died. She was sick much longer than 9 months, though.......

Statutory rape. The "victim" married his rapist and they were together for 15 years until they divorced last year.

Even to this day, the young man insists the relationship was an open and honest one and they were in love.

Calling this "rape" is correct only in technicality.

Complete bull****. A 12 year old can't consent to sex. That's why it's rape. Any adult having sex with a 12 year old is a sick and disgusting person that should be locked away for RAPE.

Her bio says she was married with kids when she started sexing her 7th grade student. The victims in this case are her first husband, and the kids they had together. Imagine growing up with the burden of having America's #1 Teacher Whore as your mom, and what that would do to your psyche.

What normal woman finds a 12 yr old attractive? She had mental issues IMO but I dont consider that an excuse.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

I feel bad for her friends and family because loosing a loved one is hard. Even when that loved one was a pedophile it's still hard to say goodbye.

Virtually nobody would chalk this up to peculiarity or 'every boy's dream' if a man had done this with a twelve-year-old girl. We would all see it as exploitative and manipulative. It's not only a violation of the student/teacher relationship --an abuse of the power that the teacher holds, but kids that young couldn't possibly understand what it is that they're consenting to, and are too easily manipulated. Don't want to call it rape? Fine by me, but it is still wrong.

With pedophilia, we tend to react to how disgusting with percieve it to be from a visual perspective. It's 'gross', and we too often focus on that, which is why I think that some are having a hard time equating this with a situation where the genders are flipped, but it's not the 'ickyness' of pedophilia that I find to be repugnant, but that an adult is taking advantage of a child.
 
The two of them had a genuine connection. Yes she took advantage of a young boy and she did time for it. That said though there was a genuine real adult relationship between them later. People like to judge, but I for one was very sad to hear she died. I don't think she was bad or evil, wrong perhaps, but why people get so high and mighty about **** that ain't their business bothers me.

Not to excuse what she did, but this is not a RAPE in the same sense as forcing sex on another person. Putting the word in all upper-case doesn't make it the same.

Fair point. But she wasn't the only one who did that. I don't know if she started a trend or the whole genre got more attention from the newsfolk, but there are several copycat sexing-up of kids at that time.
