"Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX?" Trump tweeted. "That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!"

Because by all means, when you can't form a sentence, can't help but sink yourself in the polls, recklessly contribute to American COVID deaths, and know without a doubt that all of your supporters are the worst kinds of people alive, slip back into your comfortable racism in order to lie about a black man and support the Confederacy that waged war against the country you can't run.

**** Trump.

Trump's attempt to focus his base in this manner is going to back-fire. I don't see Trump helping himself here. He has no other options, and is now narrowing his demographics further in his flailing around.

Trump and Joe Biden should both be ineligible to run for president in 2020. Kanye is the most qualified voice to lead us out of all the candidates.

"Speaking with Fox News Radio, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. and a prominent Trump ally, said he didn't think Wallace "has anything to apologize for."

"You saw the best in NASCAR," he said. "When there was a chance that it was a threat against Bubba Wallace, they all rallied to Bubba's side. So I would be looking to celebrate that kind of attitude more than being worried it's a hoax."

That's from a supporter. Trump's alienating everyone who isn't radical-right.

That's a nice way to put it. I wouldn't have been so generous.

**** Trump.

How Presidential

He is such a childish whiny sad sack of a wasted man. I can't believe his supporters are as stupid as they are, supporting this moron.

Exactly. He's digging a hole, deeper, deeper, deeper.

All I think of, is:

"It's one thing to lose. It's another to bring down your entire party with you."

Then again, Trump is not of the party. He's out for himself. So, maybe this shouldn't be unexpected. You make a pact with the Devil, you pay the price! I hope they really appreciate those judges & tax cuts. Because it's going to cost them.

The party is going down with him. And it's what they deserve. They should have done what real Republicans did and publicly reject this lying corrupt fraud. But they didn't. And now he's going to take them down with him.

I think he's banking on there being a plurality of Americans who are racist. Five years ago and for decades before then, a lot of racists were shamed into hiding their racism. I don't think we had a reliable sense of how many American racists there actually are. Lots of them have been coming out of the closet in the age of Trump. The question is how many are left. I really, sincerely hope that you are correct that there are not enough to reelect him.

Well, you have a point. If you aren't careful you become what you don't like. For that reason I've decided to back off a bit.
Thanks for the kudo! But hey, I make no judgements!

I simply love quotes & aphorisms. They often succinctly elicit truths & ideals.

The one I used above is said by Falstaff in Shakespeare's 'Henry IV'. It alludes to discretion & caution as being courageous, rather than blind unabated attack - which in effect displays 'false courage'.

It's pretty cool stuff. But mainly, I've just always liked the saying. And growing-up my family was very Catholic, Conservative, and patriarchal. So, values, ethics, proverbs, and 'doing the right thing', were constant subjects of discussion. It kinda' became a way of thinking, always making values judgements.

I thought about excerpting that quote because it did catch my attention. Then I remembered that Lindsey Graham is a feckless piece of **** who can't be trusted to spit when Trump nuts in his mouth. The reality is that what Trump did and does and will always do is simply wrong. It's cute that Graham agrees this time, but his opinion is not a valuable endorsement of what most of us know to be true anyway.

I agree with much of your hypothesis here. But must add he spews hate beyond racism to other groups as well.

This is why he baits & throws-out constant hate and other dog whistles, followed by his surrogates telling the rest of us we aren't seeing & hearing what we so clearly see & hear. They are trying to play both sides. It's despicable, and I can't wait to see the whole bunch, McConnell & all, kicked to the curb they so deserve.

Trump accidentally won the 2016 primary and the 2016 general. That is the fault of both major political parties. Now we're more than four years into this dumpster fire and there is not one single convincing argument in the world that the Republicans should not have abandoned Trump except that 1.) they want to win at any cost and think he can do it and 2.) he actually reflects the attitudes and beliefs of the ****ty people who still call themselves Republicans.

The ****ty Republicans voted for him and supported his nomination. The smart Republicans (like me) didn't.

... In the wake of the FBI’s findings, NASCAR president Steve Phelps repeatedly said that the discovery of the noose incident was not Wallace’s fault, nor was it a “hoax.”

“Bubba Wallace and the 43 team had nothing to do with this,” Phelps said after the investigation concluded. “Bubba Wallace has done nothing but represent this sport with courage, class and dignity. It is offensive seeing anyone suggest otherwise, and frankly it’s further evidence as to how far we still need to go as a society.”

... Phelps said that the driver had no knowledge of the pull rope tied like a noose until Phelps told Wallace about it himself, after NASCAR security inspected the entire garage area and officials discussed next steps.

Not if his base is smart enough to see the truth. Context is everything.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Fox News said Trump's tweet was part of a "broader point" about the "rush to judgment."

"The president is merely pointing out that we have to let facts come out before we rush to judgment," she said.

The fact it was a mountain created over nothing. Not even a mole hill.

That was a difficult election. I gave Trump voters a pass. It seemed like the right thing to do, but I understand your sentiment. Now, there's no excuse and I'm all out of forgiveness for Trump supporters.
