The Miami-Dade Police Department has launched an investigation and announced disciplinary action against a pair of officers after body-camera footage captured an officer striking a Black woman in the face.
Footage of the incident, which was shared on Wednesday on social media, showed a woman talking to a pair of Miami police officers at the Miami International Airport. At one point, the woman approached an officer, standing just inches away from him.
"What're you going to do," the woman asked, prompting the officer to punch her in the face. Both the officers then converged on the woman before tackling her to the ground. As the 30-second clip concludes, an officer can be heard saying, "she head-butted me."
Miami-Dade Police Department Chief Alfredo Ramirez III said in a statement Wednesday that he was "shocked and angered" by body-came footage he had seen, in an apparent reference to the incident at the Miami airport.
The officers - Anthony Rodriguez and Ricardo Alvarez - were told that the woman, Paris Sharon Anderson, had gone behind an American Airlines rebooking desk and that she was threatening employees.
Anderson, 21, had allegedly begun voicing threats after missing a flight to Chicago and learning that there were no other flights traveling to that destination that day.
Alvarez reportedly walked Anderson, 21, away from the counter after the officers arrived. After Rodriguez asked Anderson to gather her belongings to leave the area, Anderson grew upset, the police report said.
The report said that Anderson "aggressively approached" Rodriguez and hit him on the chin with her head. Rodriguez then "struck Ms. Anderson on her left side of the face with an open hand," the report added.
Officers placed Anderson into custody after Rodriguez struck her.
LOL "You acting white when you really black!" Typical thug rhetoric. Black thugs stupidly think a noble black in a position of authority is suppose to favor them when it comes to crime!
Now someone explain this to me.....why are you gonna tell a guy not to walk up on you as YOU advance towards him??:lamo
All the while you're giving him potential COVID droplets! And by his words she hit him, first! She was rightfully charged with assault as he only hit her in self-defense! And she harassed and threatened the airline staff who offered her a reimbursement of her flight she failed to catch on time!
The flight was back to Chiraq, of course!
My God look the sight of that mugshot! Demonic! :lamo
