NYT: Biden Takes Dominant Lead as Voters Reject Trump on Virus and Race

We seem to share the same view, for the most part, of our major political parties.

I feel and have felt for some time, that our major political parties are merely two sides of the same coin.

I am amused by those who hate Donald Trump as they have swallowed, hook, line and sinker, the propaganda from all of the sides of the political spectrum as represented by the MSM.

Both Parties and all of the factions within them hate the President. That, all by itself, is enough to make me love the guy.

The Democrat-Socialists always use a litmus test to judge the ideological purity of the membership. It used to be Abortion. Now it's hatred for the President.

It's astonishing how they whip their factions into a frenzy connecting all events and ideas to hating the President.

In the mean time, the President just keeps getting things done.

I FEEL like he is striking a chord among many. He certainly does within me. They say that he is a person who stirs up hate.

Well, I hate traitorous butt holes who piss on my flag, burn my city, kill my neighbors and destroy my country. The President seems to hate the same things.

Of course, both he and I cherish our home, our heritage and our history. We aren't completely proud of all things done by all people in our history, but we are proud of the striving after the ideal.

Just because we set our sights high and miss in some ways is not justification for destroying everything we have tried to achieve. Keep the best. Examine why failures occurred. Try again and do it better.

Oh, yeah... And get rid of the butt holes with the fire bombs throwing them into our churches.

Well you have the two parties tend to really be about the money, and I'm not sure that's so different now than it ever has been. I really just vote for the person that steals less of mine. I tend to be more on the libertarian side of things. I really don't care what other people do and I shouldn't be taxed to pay for their life choices.

The people that hate Donald Trump are so incredibly obsessed with that man. Forget politics I hope he gets another term just to see how more ridiculous these people get or if the early start to get a grip on themselves.

the Democrat Party seems to have lost the thing that I admired most about them, their solidarity. Boy they would stand behind any of their politicians if they got caught killing preschoolers with a chainsaw. Now if you say woman in the wrong context you're cancelled. I would say Let them Fall on the sword but their existence is really the only thing keeping the Republican party from being worse. It's just full on purity spiral. They are going after their own factions more than anything else. And them ignoring the riots and kind of defending antifa is probably going to cost them in the election with the abolish police rhetoric and all that I don't see how they have gained any popularity.

What Donald Trump is doing is saying all the things we already know and we already think. Like when he called out CNN, and people pretend CNN was at one time a credible news source it really wasn't. I remember in the 90s people calling it Clinton news Network.

so that's the cord he's striking and I think he's very aware he's doing that. and all of the people screeching and throwing a fit we all really knew they would.

The Democrats seem to be behind. and I noticed it here on this forum and the other ones I participate on. The try so hard to prove points. They really love trying to slam dunk on their opponents with crafty little arguments and sources and whatnot. and I don't think it's really even to make a point it's an attempt to try and make someone feel stupid. They still do that. They like to portray themselves as the more educated. But they're behind. All the best memes are really at the far left's expense. I think they're frustrated with that and it's going to manifest in screeching.

More evidence that Trump is way out of his depth, attempting to yell and bellow his way out of trouble. Hell, he'd be out of his depth in a parking lot puddle.

From a English man that gets it, when will you?? Trump does have baggage but not 40+ years as a public servant where he has no record of success. this video says it all about today's Democratic Party, wonder how many have the guts to watch it all. Doubt that radicals will ever respond or even view because the party of tolerance doesn't have any tolerance for anyone that disagrees with them nor any tolerance to debate the issues.

Trump has baggage, yes, and yet he has the best economic results pre pandemic than any President in history for his first three years in office and it is results that matter, not the so called 18,000 or whatever the number is of lies claimed, the illegal actions claimed, the hatred promoted.

Like many in THIS country the silent majority will take their country back in November and it actually takes a Englishman to set the record straight

Trump rode in on a growing and healthy economy gifted him by Obama. That's setting the record straight, and I'm not going to accept a right-wing blog for anything other but a right-wing, partisan blog. Post something from a neutral source if you want to remain credible.

PolitiFact | No, the economy didn't suddenly get strong under Donald Trump

6 Metrics Show Trump Did Not Inherit A Mess From Obama

Trump boasts the US economy is the best it's ever been under his watch. Here are 9 charts showing how it compares to the Obama and Bush presidencies. | Markets Insider

If Trump tells you it was his efforts which created a strong economy, he's lying-it's what he does.

That is your opinion not felt by the electorate in this country and it is that electorate that matters, not your distorted, biased and ignorant opinion. Like most liberals you are uneducated on the components of GDP as well as the difference between the U-3 and U-6 rates for unemployment/employment. You buy what the left tells you ignoring the reality that we are a private sector economy that was managed by a community agitator and now you want another public servant with no private sector experience back in the Oval Office believing he will make things better for England. Your country figured it out in December and ours will when they realize that today's Democratic Party is controlled by anarchists that destroy monuments, support the racist BLM, riot destroying personal property, oppose the police and that doesn't resonate with Americans who want their security and control over their own lives

The only ones that support Biden would be these anarchists, foreigners like you who don't understand our economy or Constitution, want the nanny state for your personal responsibility issues. The link I gave you was ignored as will this one be

Well, that was some irrelevant rant you just went off on! I noticed you couldn't argue with facts-like Obama rescuing an economy in deep recession and providing a healthy economy for Trump to claim credit for. You didn't disappoint. "The American Mind":lol:

And you have offered no evidence of that as it was TARP signed by Bush that recapitalized the banks and brought out of recession June 2009 before Obama could spend dime. what is it about liberalism that creates your kind of loyalty, ignorance of data and actual results? Liberal marketing? Very poor economics understanding?

Great stuff, Thanks, and this man's thoughts and feelings are being shared by people all over the English speaking world, and perhaps beyond.

Those who respect other people's opinions are being intimidated by those who don't, and they don't know quite how to react to these wide spread threats and ignorance..

Don't know if you've ever seen Bridgette Gabriel's analysis on how Fascism and Nazism can grow but it's interesting stuff. The NYT is now a propaganda rag with little credibility - among the knee jerk crypto-fascist right-wing-nuts.

Add to that departure from Journalistic integrity their continuous reliance on single sourced stories that very often require retractions . . . .

.

I took the liberty of helping you with your first sentence. I was sure you wouldn't mind.
But your second sentence exhibits precisely why the NYTimes continues to be the paper of record. Because, unlike most other sources of news, the NYTimes still publishes retractions. They correct themselves. Others simply don't - in some cases no matter badly they've distorted the news.

Your points on money and taxation: Spot on!

Your points about appreciating the President tweaking his detractors: Me, too!

Your points about the Democrat Party: Agreed! However, over my lifetime, the Democrat Party has converted from the full throated support of the working man to the full throated support of the NOT working man and the family he left in the lurch.

My support for anyone charged with getting things done is in relation to how many things they accomplish and to what degree that accomplishment is completed. The President accomplished a lot.

Media bias is a pet peeve of mine. Presenting a narrative as news is, to me, such a corruption of media's duty that they are, to me, in criminal violation of our trust. The "Fact Checkers" are the worst among them.

The Republicans need to adhere to the instincts of the President. The mob is demanding that property rights be suspended. This needs to be cited by (and for) every thinking person around the country.

That suburbanite in the pink shirt and khakis facing down the mob brandishing his little AR-15 is the thing that is occurring. The pasty white, bath-free street rioters, fire bombing churches, are the things that outrage most people and what they want to see controlled.

The screeching, shrieking, cancel culture proponents are dominating the airwaves right now. It will be interesting to see how the images of burning churches and cities play in October.

Don't you just hate it when a poster changes your post for no other reason than to change the meaning?

People who do such a thing are reprehensible, lying butt holes with no honor, no credibility and no integrity.

I'm sure you hate them as much as I do.

This is on today's frontpage of the New York Times:
Biden Takes Dominant Lead as Voters Reject Trump on Virus and Race

A New York Times/Siena College poll finds that Joseph R. Biden Jr. is ahead of the president by 14 points, leading among women and nonwhite voters and cutting into his support with white voters.

View attachment 67284976

Continuing to gain Pres. Trump, Biden now has a commanding 50% to 36% lead. The Times says, "...the distaste for Mr. Trump has deepened as his administration failed to stop a deadly disease that crippled the economy and then as he responded to a wave of racial-justice protests with angry bluster and militaristic threats. The dominant picture that emerges from the poll is of a country ready to reject a president whom a strong majority of voters regard as failing the greatest tests confronting his administration."

I would add that the country is also rejecting Trump's anti-democracy, pro-authoritarian administration that has replaced seasoned and professional experts with Trump loyalists, like in the Justice Department, who think it is their job to prosecute Trump enemies and go easy on his allies.

Hilarity had a "dominant lead" in 2016. How'd that work out for you?

Must suck that this is all you have to clutch. Don't lose it.

He doesn't appear to be clutching. You, however, trot out the most far left publications to demonstrate how to clutch at straws.

Gotta hand it to Putin for muddying Hillary.

How, we all know what we got with Trump and most don't like it. Can he recover? Michael Moore thinks so. But for now, Trump is the one that is sliding and the more he slides, the more he jumps the shark and says more stupid stuff that he then has to walk back as a "joke."

If Putin "muddied" Hilarity in your mind, that lays waste to your position. She had already done the damage YEARS before. Moore is a BIG help to your cause, too.

You help me prove my point.

Not really.

Men can make slavery legal again but that will never change the mind of God or Christians about the matter.

If God was so opposed to slavery, why did not Yeshua bar Yosef bin Nazaret condem it?

If God was so opposed to genocide, why did he instruct the Hebrews to conduct it?

(ASIDE - I do presume that you know that the God referred to in the New Testament is the same God referred to in the Old Testament - but maybe I am being rash in doing so.)

Christians opposed slavery in Lincoln's day and before, ...

Indeed, SOME Christians opposed slavery in Lincoln's day and before. On the other hand, SOME didn't "How Christian Slaveholders Used the Bible to Justify Slavery" (from Time).

...and Christians still oppose slavery today no matter what new dummass law or edict the barbarians may come up with.

Indeed, SOME (admittedly almost all) Christians (and Jews [and Muslims {and Buddhists <and _[fill in the blank])>}]) do oppose slavery.

Biden was so eloquent answering reporters' questions that Trump is falsely accusing him of reading his answers from a teleprompter!

Biden was asked questions at his so-called Press Conference yesterday where he read the answers from a teleprompter. That means he was given the questions, just like Crooked Hillary. Never have seen this before!

And largely because of the influence of Christianity you get to enjoy that freedom of choice. Is it your understanding that freedom of choice is a universal concept?

More correctly it is because of the rejection of a theocratic state that you get to enjoy that freedom of choice.

Mind you, the majority of the Founding Fathers (who came from a majority of former colonies that STILL had "established religions") didn't object to having an "established religion" per se. What they objected to was having anyone else's religion be the "established religion", and, since there was no way that the Constitution was going to be ratified by ALL of the former colonies if it contained any reference to (or even permitted) a NATIONAL "established religion" by default the only option was to prohibit any NATIONAL "established religion" while allowing the former colonies to decide INTERNALLY if they would have a STATE "established religion".

"Freedom of Choice" was NOT something newly discovered by the fledgling United States of America. It had been growing in Europe since the end of the major wars of religion in 1648 with the "Peace of Westphalia". You might not have learned this in school, but the "Peace of Westphalia" happened 128 years BEFORE the American Declaration of Independence (which, by the way, doesn't make even the slightest mention of "religion" [or "freedom of choice" as you are using the term]) was issued and 140 years BEFORE the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified.

Go Joe!

How can they simultaneously believe that Russia stole the last election and yet there is no voter fraud?

Easy.

"Stealing the election" can be accomplished by persuading a sufficient number of legal voters to vote in a way that the person who wants the election to turn out in a specific manner wants them to vote.

Of course there are other ways of "stealing an election" and those include (amongst others):

  1. unwarranted (and targeted) "purging" of voters lists;
    *
  2. unwarranted (and targeted) restrictions on the ability of people to actually register as voters;
    *
  3. unwarranted (and targeted) enhancements on the ability of people to actually register as voters;
    *
  4. unwarranted (and targeted) restrictions on acceptable forms of voter ID;
    *
  5. gerrymandering;
    *
  6. court actions to prevent votes being counted;
    *
  7. release of false information in a manner timed to affect the voting;
    *
  8. unwarranted (and targeted) restrictions on the physical facilities available for people to vote;
    *
  9. unwarranted (and targeted) enhancements to the physical facilities available for people to vote;
    *
    and
    *
  10. use of unreliable vote recording/tabulating methods;

but you weren't talking about those - were you?

"Voter fraud" (in the sense that you appear to be using it) has to be accomplished by persuading a sufficient number of illegal voters to vote in a way that the person who wants the election to turn out in a specific manner wants them to vote.

Do you believe Russia was involved in the last election?

I'll go along with the vast majority of competent, professional, non-partisan intelligence people in the United States of America. Their answer is

"Yes, Russia was 'involved' in the 2016 elections - and their 'involvement' was intended to up the chances of Donald John Trump being elected to the office of President of the United States of America. Since most countries very seldom take action that they do NOT believe is in their own national interest, the logical conclusion from those two points is that the Russians believed that the election of Donald John Trump to the office of President of the United States of America was in Russia's own national interest, and didn't particularly care what the effect of that would be on the United States of America."
