Protesters attack Wisconsin state senator in chaotic night at capitol: report

Looks like it was white women attacking him. These white women are going absolutely insane.

There's nothing about the "War between The States" that removes slavery from the equation.

"War between the States" is the term often used in the memoirs of former Confederate officials and veterans. It was officially endorsed in 1898 by the United Confederate Veterans, and was promoted in the 20th Century by the United Daughters of the Confederacy (or "The Ladies Auxiliary of the KKK" as it was known in earlier days).

Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, William Tecumseh Sherman, P.G.T. Beauregard, Nathan Bedford Forrest, Judah P. Benjamin, Abraham Lincoln, and the US Supreme Court used the term "Civil War" during its duration.

The official name is The War of The Rebellion.

HOGwash! Congress has never adopted an "official" name for the (American) Civil War.

The term "The War of the Rebellion" comes from the title of "The War of the Rebellion: a Compilation of the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies", which was published from 1881 to 1901 (one or two weeks less than contemporaneously).

That doesn't say anything slavery.

Nor does "War of Separation", "War of Secession", "War for Southern Independence", "Second American Revolution", "War for the Union", "War of Northern Aggression", or "War of Yankee Aggression".

In fact, it wasn't so much "slavery" per se that the Southern economic elites sought to preserve but rather it was their "right to private property" that they felt was being threatened by the preponderance of Northern legislative clout. Of course that "private property" DID happen to include slaves, but, as far as the Southern economic elites were concerned, slaves were simply another piece of "manufacturing/agricultural machinery". Had the Southern economic elites been fully cognizant of the fact that they would have been EVEN BETTER OFF with a "sharecropper" system than with a "slavery" system, the odds that the (American) Civil War would have happened would have been greatly lessened (because "Stamp out Slavery" sells better than "More Profits for Rich Northerners").

However, your choice of "preferred names" does give an indication of how much of an unregenerate "Confederate" you are.

<SARC>Yep! Gotta watch out fer them uppity wimmen</SARC>.

Attacking a state senator (anyone really), Burning down Wendys, throwing Molotov cocktails at occupied police vehicles... Seems to have gone from uppity to absolutely insane.

So it’s not so much he opposes the violence, just the violence against him.
He specifically said "peaceful".

Try "Hooked on Phonics"

Really? The "motive" seems to be removing/defacing statues of (any/all?) historical white folks. In Austin, TX that included painting "FTP" on the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue.

Not SRV! That's blasphemy

Yes. I don't condone tearing down statues of those that fought for the Union.

Motivation is not sufficient to excuse a result. Furthermore, these statues are public property. I don't recall the public at large giving anybody the right to remove them. There is a right and civil way to do such things.

It's unfortunate, but I think the only people capable of stopping this destruction are the militias. Trump seems hog-tied and the legislators won't do anything. The police are having a terrible time with persecution. They're afraid to take an aggressive stand for fear of warped publicity - think Jewell - which could jeopardize themselves and their families. The only places that seem to be "safe zones" for conventional public art are places with patrolling tough guys and open carry. I think we're headed for a civil war. I'm sorry for it, because I think the left is playing right into the hands of foreign agitators, but be it as it may. We can't have mobs destroying the country and beating senators to a pulp. Enough!!

I love black militias. Thank you for your support.

All true. And it's quite likely they did not know the history of one of the 2 statues either. But this does not mean the motive of this was not rooted in "tearing down the racist confederate legacy".

well they better learn some history. they are supposedly ready to tear down the emancipation statue today.

It actually means that many of these people are clueless morons engaging in acts of random vandalism.

this is why the left requires low information people.
education and facts destroy the leftist narrative.

Yet as we can see right here they continue to make excuses for such deplorable behavior.
leftism will destroy this country and it's founding principles.

folks leftism is all about capitulation and subjugation

The objective is to destroy every American institution and to erase and revise history.

You mean like trump does? He has bad mouthed every institution in america. Gold star families, the FBI, the justice department, the generals, John McCain, judges, politicians, the fake news, reporters and on an on but that's all ok because he has the magic R next to his name.

But maybe this is what it takes to make the democrats realize that this "protesting" is not just against whatever, but is in fact without a cause ... just plain general terrorism.

Democrats can stop this, at any time; but they have squarely positioned themselves between the terrorist and law-and-order, protecting the terrorists from law-and-order.

I have no sympathy for this senator.

lmao you have to understand that these leftist do not care about that. the end justifies the means with these people.
If you noticed they are 100% silent on all of these issues.

In seattle the actual people of seattle are now suing the city due to their negligence in upholding law and order and allowing
illegal occupations to occur.

that is all low information leftist have are buzzwords that are meanginless.
hence why they have to come up with a new one every week.

None of what I said is inaccurate. It may be meaningless to you that this president craps all over the constitution and lies his way through each and every day and you call it whataboutism. I call it truth.

You see this topic isn't about trump.
this is about low information leftist tearing down statues of people that fought against something they are outraged about.

so why do you support the public destruction of statues when the people fought against slavery etc ...?

I'm for the public removal of any and all confederate statues. Anything else is you trying to put words into my mouth.

You're right ... I'm also glad they are suing the city. :)

He has a right to voice criticism. Most of your claims are bull****, anyway.

Trump protects confederate statues but not the American people. We get that the Base loves it.
